Early Life

Paul Mark Oakenfold was born on the 30th of August, 1963, in London.

His musical career started in the late 1970s when he met Trevor Fung. He also met Rumours, where he played Earth, Wind, and Fire and popular British bands.

In 1981, 18-year-old Oakenfold and his friend Ian Paul moved to New York City.

Career

In 1987, Oakenfold traveled to the island of Ibiza for a week to celebrate his birthday.

A few years later, when U2 released their song ‘Even Better Than the Real Thing,’ the Perfecto remix reached a higher charted position than the original song.

The following year, he was hired by U2 to provide the warm-up sonics to their Zoo TV world tour and replaced BP Fallon on the 1993 legs in Europe and Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

Favorite Quotes from Paul Oakenfold

“I would give the same advice to anyone, celebrity or not. Produce your own music, keep it original, and be real. You need to earn the respect of your fans for your original work in music, and not rely on your celebrity in other mediums. The same would apply for actors who sing, dance, or even play sports.” – Paul Oakenfold

“When I remixed U2’s “Even Better Than the Real Thing,” that was a big moment and turning point for me. One of my remixes became “the big remix” for them, and then I went on tour and was living on the road with them for six months.” – Paul Oakenfold

“I never thought electronic music would get as popular in America as it has. When I first came to Vegas in 2009 for my residency – we were they only people playing electronic music at that time.” – Paul Oakenfold

“I had Ice Cube on my first album, “Bunker,” and then I did a remix for Snoop Dogg. I’ve worked with Grandmaster Flash and Pharrell. It’s a different work process, and there’s a different take with how you produce hip-hop.” – Paul Oakenfold

“U2 and folks like that. They all have that similar drive and that belief in themselves. They’re early birds … they’re up working when everyone else is sleeping. They’re simply all great at what they do.” – Paul Oakenfold

“This is absolutely terrible as the record company is ripping off the buying public with old records. My advice to the fans and buying public is not to purchase the material in any shape or form. I truly believe that the record companies should not rip off people in such a way.” – Paul Oakenfold

3 Life Lessons from Paul Oakenfold

Now that you know all about Paul Oakenfold’s net worth and how he achieved success; let’s take a look at some of the lessons we can learn from him:

1. Love What You Do

When Oakenfold started DJ’ing, it was no big thing. There was no money in DJ’ing, and you did it purely for the love of playing music.

2. Stress Away

Why people used to go to clubs was to have a great time and to forget their troubles and worries and stresses of the week and enjoy themselves.

3. Let the Music Speak For Itself

Let their music skill speak for themselves. If they are producing good tracks and are resonating with their fans, or even gaining new fans, then that’s great.

Favorite Quotes from Afrojack

“I think the most important thing about dance music is the connection. If you put 80,000 people together, no one knows each other, and once the music starts, everyone loves each other. That doesn’t happen with a lot of genres. If you go to a hip-hop club, it’s not like when one song comes on that everyone suddenly loves each other.” – Afrojack

“My debut album, ‘Forget the World,’ is all about not listening to the negativity around you and to continue to do what you love, no matter what people think. I love what I do. Dance music is my passion, my life. There is no greater feeling than being one with my fans, partying to the music we love.” – Afrojack

“I was in school – I was a good learner; if I wanted to get something done, I could get it done. I was lazy, though. I was always, like, sort of an outcast. And when I got home, I was always doing music, but when I was doing music, no one was there to judge it, you know? It was just me in my bedroom. It gave me freedom and made me happy.” – Afrojack

“When I was a baby, my mom used to have a dance school, and she used to teach classes there. We didn’t have money for a babysitter, so she always brought me with her to the dancing school. Back then, I was already watching and listening to Michael Jackson for a long time.” – Afrojack

“One of the reasons why my album is called ‘Forget the World’ is because when you listen to the world, you make stupid mistakes.” – Afrojack

Favorite Quotes From Mike Williams’

“It was very hard for me to keep it a secret! I couldn’t tell anyone that Sweet & Sour was my track, and I received a lot of questions about it. Even when I did a seminar during Dancefair, people were asking if I was the artist behind the track and it was very hard to give the right answer in front of all those people.” – Mike Williams

“I’ve been producing and DJ’ing for a long time and of course it was amazing when Spinnin’ approached me. Before I created ‘Sweet & Sour’, I worked a lot in the studio to improve my skills.” – Mike Williams

“I started by creating a drop. I used to start my projects with the break and work towards the drop but the drop was always disappointing then. Now when I start with the drop it all gets much easier. ‘Sweet & Sour’ was a project I finished relatively quickly. I had an idea in my mind for the drop: an easy melody that would get stuck in your head combined with a cool bassline.” – Mike Williams

“Took me a couple of years to find out what my style was. I’m not intending to do everything in that style, it’s just the way I produce and mix my tracks that makes it sound like me. That’s what makes it unique I guess!” – Mike Williams

“It was amazing and I learned a lot from working with those legends. Every one of them gave me good advice and helped me further and further! Also, it’s an amazing feeling when they pull me onstage during their sets.” – Mike Williams

Career

Robbert van de Corput began taking piano lessons at age four and produced his electro songs at twelve.

Teaming Up With Tiësto

His message in the documentary has always been his motto in life, “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.”

Teaming Up With Chris Jones

Meanwhile, Hardwell collaborated with Tiësto on a back-to-back set at Tomorrowland, which got more than 6 million views on YouTube.

At the same time, he released a new song from his studio album, “Young Again,” which featured Chris Jones on vocals.

Following the release of “I Am Hardwell – United We Are” world tour, he joined forces with Armin Van Buuren at the “Ultra Music Festival” in 2015.

During this time, he launched the smash hit “Sally” featuring Harrison Shaw, his first song to enter the German Single Charts.

Switching It Up

Hardwell then switched up his musical focus and introduced Hardstyle into the mix, creating “Don’t Let Me Down” by “The Chain Smokers”

He had his final performance on the “I Am Hardwell – United We Are” tour in August following the release of” Thinking About You” featuring Jay Sean.

Hardwell fell to third place in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs, being overtaken by Martin Garrix when he ranked as the youngest Number One.

Later that year, he released” Break the House Down” with Kill the Buzz and “Party Till the Daylight” as a free birthday gift.
