That role earned him a Saturn Award for Best Actor, a win for MTV Movie Award for Best Fight, and other nominations.

He then won the Empire Award for Best Newcomer for his role in “300” and featured in Nim’s Island a year later.

Gerard appeared in “Butterfly on a Wheel” with co-stars Pierce Brosnan and Maria Bello, with the show airing on TV under the title “Shattered.”

That same year, Gerard played Secret Service agent Mike Banning in Olympus Has Fallen alongside Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd.

He returned as the voice of Stoick in “How to Train Your Dragon,” which was released the same year, and starred in “Greenland.”

Thanks to the popularity of his role as Spartan King Leonides, he was requested to use lines from the movie during athletic events at MSU.

He appeared as a guest at their Midnight Madness and homecoming American football game, much to the surprise of his fans.

Attending Fundraisers With Ashton Kutcher

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the live-action remake of “How to Train Your Dragon” has been delayed and is set to release in 2025.

While filming “Olympus Has Fallen,” he broke two bones in his neck but didn’t realize it until he had an MRI scan a short while later.

Despite his injury, he starred in “Hunter Killer” with Gary Oldman and was featured in “Angel Has Fallen” with Jada Pinkett Smith and Nick Nolte.

In a move unrelated to the film, Gerard bought a stake in Jamaica Tallawah’s cricket team and played in a charity match for Celtic F.C.

At the same time, he supported the charity Mary’s Meals in 2010 and visited Liberia for their development charity program.

He then attended the Friends of the Israel Defence Forces fundraiser gala with Ashton Kutcher, Fran Drescher, and Andy Garcia.

Shortly after this, Gerard joined the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, joining the illustrious Actor’s Branch.

He also expanded his film industry network, connecting with notable figures such as Quentin Tarantino, Meryl Streep, and Jerry Bruckheimer.

As an Academy member, he participated in various committee events, including screening panels and voting for prestigious awards like the Oscars.
