Early Life

Ronald Walken, now Christopher Walken, was born on March 31, 1943, in Queens, New York, United States.

Christopher, who has been performing since the age of three, began as a dancer, receiving training while at school. He is the son of a baker and would frequently leave his Queens neighborhood to travel to Manhattan alongside his siblings in search of part-time work. They would congregate in Rockefeller Centre in Midtown, where numerous television shows were being filmed.

The children occasionally got jobs as extras to supplement their income. When he was 10 years old, he had the opportunity to serve as an extra in a television sketch with comedian Jerry Lewis. Walken attended the exclusive Professional Children’s School, which was created for youngsters interested in the performing arts. Around 18, he began to work in theater, first earning musical roles due to his previous studies and experience.

Career

He debuted in the theatre as Ronnie Walken in Archibald MacLeish’s J.B. in 1959, and went on to appear in “Best Foot Forward”, “Measure for Measure”, “The Rose Tattoo” and “The Lion in Winter”.

In 1964, he acquired his stage name and in 1971, Christopher made his mainstream film debut in Sidney Lumet’s heist thriller, “The Anderson Tapes”. The movie featured Sean Connery in the lead role together with Martin Balsam, Dyan Cannon, Stan Gottlieb, and Alan King.

He debuted in Paul Mazursky’s autobiography “Next Stop, Greenwich Village”, as well as the slasher picture “The Sentinel”.

Walken then garnered attention for a tiny role as the titular character’s presumably suicidal brother in Woody Allen’s “Annie Hall”.

Then came “The Deer Hunter,” a classic movie with a haunting soundtrack and a stellar performance from Walken, receiving positive reviews for his frightening depiction of Nick.

He appeared in Heaven’s Gate, played a soldier in The Dogs of War, and sang and danced throughout the musical Pennies from Heaven.

Christopher went on to star in a slew of other films, including the sci-fi film The Dead Zone and the James Bond film A View to a Kill. He also appeared in The Milagro Beanfield War and the film adaptation of a play, Biloxi Blues.

Walken’s most recent work includes his performance in the comedy movie Father Figure (2017), and Irreplaceable You (2018). Christopher appeared in Percy and The War with Grandpa in 2020 and the sci-fi series Severance in 2022.

Introduction

Kevin Costner is an American professional actor, film director, and entrepreneur with an estimated net worth of $250 Million.

Costner built the majority of his wealth through his film career, which spans almost five decades. In the early 1990s, he was the world’s highest-paid actor for three consecutive years, earning between $48 million and $71 million per year.

His net worth has taken hits in the past, notably from his 1994 divorce settlement with Cindy Silva, which occurred the same year his three-year reign as the highest-earning actor ended. The divorce cost him an estimated $80 million, just under half of his total earnings from 1991 to 1993.

More recently, Costner has been earning over $1 million per episode for starring in the television series Yellowstone, which is in its fifth season. He also made headlines in May 2024 for investing $38 million of his own money in Horizon: An American Saga

Quick Facts

  • Earned an estimated $50 million from Dances with Wolves
  • Salary of $1.3 million per episode to star in Yellowstone
  • Invested $38 million into Horizon: An American Saga
  • Divorce settlement cost him roughly $80 million

Yellowstone Salary

Costner reportedly earned $500,000 per episode for the first season of Yellowstone, which would have equated to $4.5 million for the entire season. Ahead of the fifth season, he signed a new deal that would pay him $1.3 million per episode, increasing to $1.5 million if a sixth season were to occur. This would equate to $10.4 million in salary for the fifth season.

Cindy Silva Divorce Settlement

In 1978, Costner married his first wife, Cindy Silva, and they remained together for 16 years, during which they had three children. Early on in their marriage, Silva worked various jobs to support Costner until his acting career took off. As his fame grew, rumours started about Costner’s infidelity, especially during the filming of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. After moving to England in 1991 to film the movie, it was alleged that Costner had a brief affair with Sheri Stewart, a hostess at an unnamed nightclub in London. By 1994, Costner and his wife announced that they would be separating.

At the time of their divorce, there was no prenuptial agreement in place, and therefore, Silva reportedly received around $80 million from Costner. Neither of them commented on the divorce publicly and instead focused their energy on co-parenting their children and maintaining a respectful relationship with each other.

Christine Baumgartner Divorce Settlement

Two years after his divorce from Silva, Costner met Christine Baumgartner in 1996 while filming Tin Cup. The couple eventually began dating publicly in 1999. On September 25, 2004, the couple married in Aspen, Colorado, and remained together for 18 years, during which they raised three children. Baumgartner left her job as a handbag designer and model to stay home with their children, while Costner continued to work in film and TV.

However, despite their image as a happy couple, Baumgartner filed for divorce in May 2023, and the details quickly became public as the couple began fighting over finances and child custody. According to their prenuptial agreement, Baumgartner was required to vacate the family home within 30 days of filing for divorce. However, she refused, arguing that she needed to sort out her finances before she could move out.

Eventually, Costner asked the court to intervene, and the judge ordered her to vacate the property by the end of July 2023, with Costner reportedly paying her $1.2 million for housing and $200,000 for relocation costs, as per their agreement. After giving up her job to stay home with the children, Baumgartner had no income, and so she requested that Costner pay $248,000 per month in child support. The judge refused this amount, though eventually ordered Costner to pay around $63,000 per month instead. He was also responsible for paying for the children’s private school tuition, healthcare, and extracurricular activities.

The couple’s divorce was finalized in February 2024, after Costner reportedly agreed to pay at least $300,000 toward Baumgartner’s legal fees, although she had initially requested $885,000. However, the final settlement figure was kept private, as was information about Costner’s wealth and business assets.

Highest-Grossing Movies

Although Costner’s more recent work has been through the television series Yellowstone, some of his older movies smashed the box office. Six of his ten highest-grossing films are from the 1990s, including Dances with Wolves ($424 million), The Bodyguard ($411 million), and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves ($390 million). In fact, the first two of those movies mentioned produced some of the highest ROIs available in the industry. Dances with Wolves grossed $424 million on just a $22 million budget, and The Bodyguard grossed $411 million against a $25 million budget.

This is one of the reasons why Costner was the world’s highest-paid actor for three consecutive years, from 1991 to 1993. However, his appearance as Jonathan Kent in the DC franchise was responsible for producing two of his highest-grossing films: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($874 million) and Man of Steel ($670 million).

Some notable mentions that didn’t reach the list include The Guardian ($95 million), Field of Dreams ($84 million), and The Untouchables ($76 million).

Here’s a complete list of Kevin Costner’s ten highest-grossing films:

  1. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – $874 Million (2016)
  2. Man of Steel – $670 Million (2013)
  3. Dances with Wolves – $424 Million (1990)
  4. The Bodyguard – $411 Million (1992)
  5. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves – $390 Million (1991)
  6. Waterworld – $264 Million (1995)
  7. Hidden Figures – $236 Million (2016)
  8. JFK – $205 Million (1991)
  9. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit – $136 Million (2014)
  10. A Perfect World – $135 Million (1993)

How Does Kevin Costner Spend His Money?

Kevin Costner is known for his impressive wealth, which he uses to invest in multiple business ventures, including CBD oil and casinos.

In April 2006, he spent $28.5 million on an oceanfront ranch in Santa Barbara County, California. Contrary to the lifestyle of many rich and famous actors known for driving luxury cars, Costner has been seen driving a Toyota pickup truck to get around his ranch.

Introduction

Dan Aykroyd is a Canadian-American professional actor, producer, comedian, musician, and filmmaker with an estimated net worth of $250 Million.

Comedy Career

Dan Aykroyd’s early career began in college, performing stand-up routines at various comedy clubs and nightclubs in Canada. After cutting his teeth on the comedy circuit, he branched out into music, performing in blues clubs and drawing influences from Muddy Waters. At seventeen, Aykroyd joined a sketch comedy group and performed on the show The Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour, gaining international attention.

Saturday Night Live

Aykroyd gained his first big break when he moved to the United States and began working as a staff writer on the Saturday Night Live comedy series. This quickly led to him joining the series’ cast, where he earned strong critical notices for his wide range of impersonations. These impressions encompassed a diverse range of public figures and celebrities, from President Richard Nixon to horror film actor Vincent Price. During this period, he teamed up with some of the richest comedians in the world, with Steve Martin and John Belushi among the stars.

On Saturday Night Live, Aykroyd first met John Belushi, with whom he would go on to enjoy his Hollywood breakthrough role in 1980.

Acting Career

Founded in 1978, The Blues Brothers quickly gained prominence after a successful performance on Saturday Night Live. By 1980, Aykroyd and Belushi had transformed the stage show into a comedy movie, and some of the richest singers in the world joined the cast. This included soul icons Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and James Brown, who appeared in the movie and sang hits from their discographies.

At the same time, the band toured extensively throughout the US, while Ackroyd used his fame to work on other film and television productions. In 1984, he co-starred with Bill Murray in Ghostbusters, another chart-topping movie he co-wrote with the film’s director, John Landis. Cementing his reputation as one of the most prominent comedy actors, Ackroyd’s other movies included Spies Like Us and the Eddie Murphy vehicle Trading Places.

In 1987, Aykroyd partnered with Tom Hanks in Dragnet and returned to play Raymond Stantz in Ghostbusters II, another hit at the box office.

Career Lull During the 1990s

While Dan Aykroyd enjoyed a string of hit movies throughout the 1980s, more minor roles would characterize the following decade. His 1991 directorial debut, starring Chevy Chase and Demi Moore, Nothing But Trouble, was a commercial and critical disaster for Aykroyd. This set the tone for his subsequent works, with Blues Brothers 2000, Exit to Eden, and Coneheads all unpopular with audiences and critics.

He joined Hollywood legend Robert Redford in the film Sneakers and made television guest appearances in shows such as The Nanny and Soul Man. His supporting role in the low-budget crime comedy Grosse Pointe Blank was a return to form, and film critics praised him widely.

Late Career Television Appearances

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Dan Aykroyd’s career shifted away from movie roles, focusing more on supporting roles and television shows. The CBS series The Defenders and guest appearances in the Matt Groening comedy The Simpsons were complemented by bit parts in movies.

He appeared in a scene in the blockbuster Pearl Harbor alongside Ben Affleck and as a side character in Christmas with the Kranks and 50 First Dates. As a producer, Aykroyd assisted with the development of the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, which starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones.

Ghostbusters Earnings

The leading cast members of Ghostbusters all earned the majority of their net worth from their roles in the franchise. This was solely down to the work of their agent, Michael Ovitz, who proved himself highly valuable during the negotiation process. Ovitz arranged for Ivan Reitman (the director) and the three leading cast members (Aykroyd, Murray, and Ramis) to share a 30% split of the gross revenues from Ghostbusters (1984). This included revenues from the box office, VHS sales, and additional licensing.

Reports suggest that the total value of this 30% share reached $300 million. The film grossed $297 million at the global box office alone, which in 1984 was an insane milestone. Since this $300 million was divided by four, Dan Aykroyd’s earnings should be $75 million from the first film.

For Ghostbusters II, the three leading stars, including Aykroyd, were paid $6 million upfront, plus 35% of the gross revenues. Despite only grossing $212 million worldwide, Ghostbusters II was still a hit. Based on our rough calculations, we can make an informed estimate of how much Aykroyd earned from the film. The second film generated approximately 71% of the first film’s revenues at the box office. If this figure directly correlates with revenues from VHS and licensing (rather unlikely), a 30% share would have earned each star $53.25 million, plus their $6 million upfront. A 35% share should have earned them $68.1 million total.

Of course, this is a very rough estimate, but it would lead us to believe that Dan Aykroyd earned within the ballpark of between $130 million and $145 million from the first two films.

Highest-Grossing Movies

Aykroyd’s role in the Ghostbusters franchise produced five of his ten highest-grossing films. However, none of them was the highest. That honor goes to Pearl Harbor (2001), which grossed $449 million while costing $140 million to produce. He also starred in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), which performed incredibly well, grossing $333 million against a budget of only $28 million.

Within the Ghostbusters franchise, the original 1984 film performed the best at the box office, grossing $297 million worldwide and costing $30 million. The second film had a slightly lower budget of $25 million but grossed $215 million. The new trilogy, spanning from 2016 to 2024, had much higher budgets, but none could surpass the original movie’s gross. 2016’s Ghostbusters had a budget of $144 million and grossed $229 million. 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife cost $75 million and grossed $204 million. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire had a $100 million budget and grossed just $202 million. Regarding ROI, Aykroyd’s role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom performed the best, with the original 1984 Ghostbusters film coming in second.

Here’s a complete list of Dan Aykroyd’s ten highest-grossing movies:

  1. Pearl Harbor – $449 Million (2001)
  2. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom – $333 Million (1984)
  3. Ghostbusters – $297 Million (1984)
  4. Casper – $288 Million (1995)

Justin Baldoni Lawsuit

Between May 2023 and January 2024, Lively was working on the film It Ends With Us with actor and director Justin Baldoni. The film was released in August 2024, and in December of that year, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department (CRD). In her statement, she accused Baldoni of repeated sexual harassment and retaliation during filming. Lively also claimed that Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath had devised a plan to destroy her reputation after she raised concerns over their behavior.

To support her lawsuit, Lively produced hundreds of text messages and emails as evidence, all of which were reviewed by The New York Times before the story was released on December 21, 2024. In addition, Lively claimed that the work environment was toxic, including comments made about her weight and being forced by Baldoni and Heath to look at explicit images.

After Lively formally complained about inappropriate behavior on set, everyone agreed to her requests for stricter rules, which included always having an intimacy coordinator present during adult scenes with Baldoni. However, she alleged that, in response, Baldoni attempted to harm her reputation through social manipulation, turning the press against her during the film’s promotion.

Lawsuit Details

In response to The New York Times’ coverage of Lively’s accusations, Baldoni sued the newspaper for $250 million. A month later, in January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively. In his countersuit, Baldoni accused Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane of defamation, invasion of privacy, and damaging his ability to earn money from other projects.

On June 9, 2025, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s countersuit because Lively’s claims of sexual harassment were protected under California law. Although Baldoni was allowed to try again if he submitted a new version of his complaint by October 2025, he failed to do so. Lively’s case continues to proceed through the California courts and is scheduled for trial in March 2026.

So far, the lawsuit has not affected Lively’s net worth and is unlikely to do so, and there is also no indication that her career has suffered as a result of the case.

How Does Blake Lively Spend Her Money?

While Blake Lively has some way to go compared to some of the richest actresses in the world, her impressive net worth nonetheless provides her with considerable disposable income. Through her marriage to Ryan Reynolds, she’s purchased some of the most expensive houses you can buy, including a mansion costing $5.7 million. Lively has also spoken about her fondness for some of the luxury perfumes, claiming to wear great perfumes even when she isn’t using makeup.
