After playing for his high school basketball team at DeMatha High School, Oladipo committed to playing college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers.
The Orlando Magic were impressed with his performance at the tryouts, and he subsequently was the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
Rise to Stardom
His rookie season got off to a brilliant start and Oladipo was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, living up to his early promise.
His skills on the basketball court were apparent to everyone as he earned the reputation of being an energetic player and talented defender.
In December 2013, Victor Oladipo recorded his first-ever career triple-double, scoring an impressive 26 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

He was traded to the Indiana Pacers in a deal for Paul George, earning Eastern Conference Player of the Week multiple times during the season.
Victor was selected to the All-NBA Third Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team after an impressive showing during the season.
Sidelined Due To A Leg Injury
Oladipo hit a game-winning 3-pointer against the Boston Celtics in November 2018,
but suffered a ruptured quad tendon in January.
This ruled him out for the rest of the season, but he was still selected as an Eastern Conference All-Star reserve.
Assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants for recovery, he was recalled in November 2019, making his return to the NBA after 371 days.
Back to his old form, he scored 9 points in an overtime win against the Chicago Bulls in his comeback game.
For the 2020-21 season, Oladipo was traded to the Houston Rockets on January 16, 2021, as part of a four-team deal.
He made a cracking debut for the Rockets, scoring an impressive 32 points and providing 9 assists on January 18, 2021.
Playing The Trading Game
He was once again traded in March 2021 to the Miami Heat in exchange for Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, and a draft pick.
Victor debuted for the Heat in April 2021, with his luck running out in May when he required surgery to repair his right quadriceps tendon.
He re-signed with the Miami Heat in August 2021 on a one-year, veteran’s minimum deal and returned from injury in March 2022.
He racked up 11 points in a win against the Houston Rockets and then scored a season-high 40 points in the regular-season finale in April.
Victor signed a two-year, $18 million deal with the Miami Heat in July 2022, but suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee in April 2023.
July 2023 saw him traded to the Houston Rockets where he is currently recovering from a recent knee injury, showing remarkable resilience.
