Introduction
Paul Simon is an American professional musician, singer, and actor with an estimated net worth of $200 Million.
Before Wealth & Fame
Growing up in Queens, New York, Paul Simon attended the same elementary school as Art Garfunkel. The pair became friends and began singing together in their teens. They performed their first paid gig at a school dance, earning just $4 each. It wasn’t long before they signed with Big Records in the late 1950s, and the label gave them the name Tom & Jerry. During this time, they released the single “Hey, Schoolgirl“, one of their stand-out singles under the Tom & Jerry name.
Despite initial success in music, Simon studied English at Queens College and considered attending law school, but ultimately continued his pursuit of music.
Music Career
In the early 1960s, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel renamed their music group from Tom & Jerry to Simon & Garfunkel and released their debut studio album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., in 1964. Initially, the album didn’t perform exceptionally well, but five years later, the RIAA certified it gold. In 1997, it was certified platinum for selling over a million copies in the United States.
Simon & Garfunkel’s next two albums, Sounds of Silence and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, both released in 1966, followed a similar pattern. They reached gold certification slightly quicker, but still had to wait until the late 1980s and 1990s to get platinum. However, those two albums have since become multi-platinum, selling over 3 million copies each in the United States.
The duo released two additional studio albums during their partnership. The first was Bookends, which was successful in its own right, but didn’t sell as many copies as Simon & Garfunkel’s previous two albums. Their 1970 album, Bridge over Troubled Water, was the highest-selling of all their discography, selling over 8 million copies in the United States and over 3.3 million in the United Kingdom. It was also the only album to receive awards outside the aforementioned countries. The other three awards came from Finland, France, and Germany.
Publishing Rights Sale
In April 2021, Simon sold his entire publishing catalog to Sony Music Publishing (SMP) for an undisclosed sum. The sale included all of Simon’s solo work and everything from Simon & Garfunkel, the band that launched his music career.
Although the exact figures remain unknown, reports suggest that, based on previous catalog sales by other high-profile artists like Bob Dylan and Neil Young, the sale could have been in the hundreds of millions of dollars, with some estimates at $250 million.
The catalog contains countless hits from over six decades of songwriting, including “Graceland,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Mrs. Robinson,” and “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.”
Royalties Sale
In June 2023, twenty-seven months after Simon sold his publishing rights to Sony Music Publishing, Simon made headlines again when he sold a substantial stake in his royalty and neighboring rights income of Simon & Garfunkel recordings to BMG.
The deal reportedly covered only Simon & Garfunkel’s work and none of his solo recordings, including works like “The Boxer,” “The Sound Of Silence,” and “Mrs.Robinson.”
Although the official terms of the transaction and sale have not been disclosed publicly, BMG stated that the acquisition was one of the most significant in recent years.
Philanthropy
Simon has helped organizations such as the American Foundation for AIDS Research, Autism Speaks, Children’s Health Fund, Entertainment Industry Foundation, Every Mother Counts, Life College, Little Kids Rock, Love Hope Strength Foundation, MusiCares, Project A.L.S., Rainforest Foundation Fund, and Rosie’s Theater Kids.

Forbes ranked Jimmy Buffett among the world’s highest-paid musicians at least seven times. In 1993 and 1994, he was featured on the Forbes Top 40, earning an estimated $12 million and $14 million, respectively. At the time, Buffett had just released his compilation album Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads, a four-disc set featuring Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band’s greatest hits. To date, it’s the second-best-selling album of Buffett’s career, with over 4 million copies sold in the United States.
Two decades later, in 2015, Forbes ranked Buffett as the 62nd-highest-paid celebrity in the world, with an estimated $36 million in earnings. By this point in his career, Buffett’s primary source of income was no longer music. Instead, he was earning tens of millions of dollars from his Margaritaville hotel and resort business. Jimmy was also featured on the list for the next four consecutive years. He earned $40.5 million in 2016 and at least $50 million per year between 2017 and 2019.
All things considered, this brings his total income between 2015 and 2019 to $228 million. With that said, it only accounts for a fraction of Jimmy Buffett’s career.

Introduction
Davido is an American-Nigerian professional musician, songwriter, and record producer with an estimated net worth of $50 Million.
He creates music that blends traditional African elements with mainstream pop and, along with Wizkid, is one of Nigeria’s most well-known musicians. Davido’s enormous wealth is due to his popularity amongst his fans and his descent from a powerful Nigerian family.
Net Worth History
When we first started tracking Davido’s net worth in 2023, he was estimated at $50 million. However, as we mentioned earlier, reports suggest his fortune has doubled in just two years.
While this might seem unlikely, the Nigerian musician has been taking the world by storm in recent years. He’s been earning a substantial income from album sales, streaming royalties, and sell-out tours. According to several sources, some dates on Davido’s Timeless Tour grossed over $1.2 million, including at Madison Square Garden and London’s O2 Arena in 2024. More recently, the first three shows of the 5ive Alive Tour reportedly grossed $1.61 million.
At the time of writing, Davido’s net worth is approximately $50 Million.
Breach of Contract Lawsuit
In October 2023, Davido was scheduled to perform at the Warri Again Concert in Lagos, Nigeria. However, according to the event’s organizers, operating under Brownhill Investments Company Ltd., the musician failed to show. In response, the company filed a lawsuit against the artist, seeking N2 billion ($2.6 million) for breach of contract.
The lawsuit alleges that in early 2023, Amaju Pinnick, chairman of Brownhill Investments, met with Davido to secure an agreement for the annual Warri Again Concert on October 6, 2023. It appears Pinnick had already hired Davido twice for the same event (2014 & 2019), but, as in this instance, he failed to show. Third time’s a charm, I guess.
In any case, they agreed to a performance fee of N70 million ($154,000), which was paid several months before the event. Pinnick also sent Davido reminders in the weeks leading up to the event and spent an additional $18,000 to charter a private jet for his transportation. Davido allegedly failed to respond to reminders and did not show up for the Warri Again Concert, leading to the lawsuit.
This suit was officially settled in March 2024, with Davido agreeing to pay N30 million ($39,000) in legal costs and to perform at the next event, scheduled for October 2024. The N70 million ($154,000) fee he’d already received would be counted as his payment for the 2024 concert (which he did attend this time).
What’s most interesting about this situation, and you might have already noticed, is that a month after receiving his payment, the Nigerian Naira crashed. If Davido holds all his money in Naira, then this doesn’t make a difference. However, if he had held it in USD, he would have benefited from the lawsuit, as the 2024 performance fee would have amounted to roughly $90,000.
Car Collection
Davido is an avid car collector and owns more than half a dozen luxury vehicles worth well over $1 million. His automotive collection includes:
- Rolls-Royce Cullinan
- Bentley Bentayga
- Mercedes-Benz G-Class 450
- Porsche 911 Carrera
- Lamborghini Huracán

Introduction
Krist Novoselic is an American professional musician and activist with an estimated net worth of $80 Million.
Nirvana Music Catalog
A significant portion of Krist Novoselic’s net worth is attributed to his stake in Nirvana’s music catalog. The group’s founding members, Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, as well as the band’s later addition of Dave Grohl, controlled the majority of the band’s music catalog. As the lead writer, Cobain received the lion’s share of Nirvana’s songwriting/publishing royalties. However, the recording/masters royalties were divided more equally.
In 2006, Kurt Cobain’s estate sold between 25% and 50% of its stake in Nirvana’s publishing royalties to Primal Wave Music for $50 million. According to reports, Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, was later offered $162 million for the remaining stake. This shows just how valuable Nirvana’s music catalog is, though estimating the value of Novoselic’s share would be challenging.
Real Estate
Krist Novoselic owns a 1,020-square-foot, two-bedroom, one-bathroom home in Seattle, Washington. We’re not sure exactly how much he paid for the property, but it’s currently valued at approximately $600,000.
