Marvel Salary
Johansson earned $400,000 for her first Marvel appearance in Iron Man 2. For 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, she was paid a $15 million upfront salary, as well as a backend percentage. The film is the sixth highest-grossing of all time, at $2.05 billion, which helped Johansson earn an estimated $20 million on the backend, for a total of $35 million.
Scarlett reportedly earned another $15 million salary for Avengers: Endgame; however, her backend percentage was undisclosed. She also earned $20 million upfront for her standalone film, Black Widow. These four films calculate Johansson’s minimum earnings from the Marvel franchise at $70.4 million. With potential backend percentages for Endgame and Black Widow, this number could easily cross $100 million.
Disney Lawsuit
On July 29, 2021, Johansson filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging a breach of contract. The lawsuit centered on Disney’s decision to release Black Widow simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ via the “Premier Access” model, which Johansson claimed violated her contract, which guaranteed an exclusive theatrical release.
Her contract reportedly tied her salary to the film’s box office performance, meaning the dual release strategy potentially reduced her earnings. Johansson claimed that this strategy cost her up to $50 million in potential bonuses, in addition to her $20 million salary.
The film grossed over $379 million worldwide, and Disney responded by stating that Johansson had already received her $20 million salary, arguing that the Disney+ release expanded Johansson’s earning potential.
In late September 2021, Scarlett and Disney reached a settlement, with media reports suggesting she would receive $40 million. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the resolution and reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration.
Highest-Grossing Movies
Johansson is the fourth-highest-grossing actor at the box office in the United States and Canada. Her top ten movies have grossed more than $12.3 billion worldwide. We should mention that $8 billion comes from the Avengers franchise and another $3 billion from Captain America and Captain Marvel.

In August 2010, Scarlett Johansson purchased a single-story home in Los Angeles, California, with 2,835 square feet of living space. She paid $2.9 million for the three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence, which features an outdoor pool, a fire pit, and a home gym. However, Johansson didn’t own the home for long. She sold it for $3.5 million in May 2012.
In August 2013, the actress paid $2.2 million for a 3,500-square-foot Hamptons home in Amagansett, New York. As far as we’re aware, she still owns this property, which is currently valued at roughly $5.1 million.
In December 2014, Johansson acquired a 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Los Angeles for $3.88 million. Again, there’s no information to suggest that she has since sold the home. According to Zillow, it is currently valued at roughly $5.48 million.
Scarlett’s most recent purchase with her husband, Colin Jost, came in March 2025, when the couple bought a 6,000-square-foot triplex in New York City. The home, located on Park Avenue in the Upper East Side, features 14 rooms across the building’s 16th, 17th, and 18th floors. They paid $13 million for the penthouse.

SPiN Investment
Now that we’ve looked at Susan Sarandon’s acting career and earnings from film, let’s discuss one of the ways in which she has invested that money. The actress’s most notable investment has been in SPiN, the ping-pong club and restaurant business.
SPiN was first launched in 2009 by film producer Jonathan Bricklin, Andre Gordon, and Franck Raharinosy. A year later, Bricklin became romantically involved with Sarandon, which ultimately led to her investment in SPiN and, later, to her becoming a co-owner of the New York location.
To date, the company now has nine locations across the United States and Canada, including:
- Boston
- Chicago
- New York
- Philadelphia
- San Francisco
- Seattle
- Toronto
- Washington DC
It’s not exactly clear where Sarandon’s investment stands today, particularly since her relationship with Bricklin ended in the mid-2010s. Nonetheless, SPiN remains her best-known investment.
Real Estate
According to public records, in June 1995, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins paid $1.675 million for a 5,552-square-foot, four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home in Pound Ridge, New York. Introduction
Bradley Cooper is an American professional actor and filmmaker with an estimated net worth of $100 Million.
Although most people know him from The Hangover Trilogy, many of his biggest paydays have come later in his career. Cooper’s films have grossed $13.05 billion worldwide, placing him among the top ten highest-grossing actors of all time.
This is primarily due to his voice-acting role as Rocket within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cooper has worked on six films voicing the character, earning an estimated $25-$30 million.
His single largest payday came from banking on himself by forfeiting his salary from A Star Is Born, a movie he directed, produced, and co-wrote. The film is currently the eleventh-highest-grossing of his career, earning him an estimated $40 million.
Quick Facts
- Only received $600,000 for the original The Hangover film
- Earned roughly $50 million from The Hangover trilogy
- Forfeited salary for A Star is Born to re-invest in production
- Earned an estimated $40 million from A Star is Born (10% backend)
- He was paid $5 million to voice Rocket in Avengers: Infinity War
- Potentially earned between $25-$30 million from Marvel
Earnings & Salary
| Year | Project | Salary |
|---|---|---|
| 2009 | Hangover | $600,000 |
| 2011 | Hangover II | $25,000,000 |
| 2013 | Hangover III | $25,000,000 |
| 2013 | American Hustle | $2,500,000 |
| 2018 | A Star is Born | $40,000,000 |
| 2018 | Avengers: Infinity War | $5,000,000 |
| Total Calculated Earnings: | $97,100,000 | |
The Hangover Trilogy Salaries
Cooper’s earliest recorded salaries originate from his breakthrough role as Phil in The Hangover trilogy. Although the first movie in the franchise had a $35 million production budget, the four prominent cast members were paid less than $1 million each. Cooper was reportedly paid the most, at $600,000, due to his greater star power than that of Helms, Galifianakis, and Bartha.
The film grossed $469 million at the box office despite Warner Bros.’ doubts, which led to two higher-paying sequels for the cast. When a new deal was negotiated for The Hangover Part II, all four prominent cast members received a $5 million salary plus 4% of the backend gross profits. The movie grossed $587 million worldwide against a $80 million budget, earning each actor an estimated $20 million. Including their upfront salary, this became a $25 million payday for Cooper.
For the third movie in the trilogy, the actors were now asking for a $15 million upfront salary plus a backend percentage. While the exact percentage remains undisclosed, it was likely close to 4%. However, The Hangover Part III struggled at the box office, bringing in just $362 million on a much higher $103 million budget (presumably due to inflated cast salaries). The cast would have earned roughly $25 million apiece for the third installment if our calculations are correct.
This would put Cooper’s earnings from the trilogy at $51 million. The exact number will likely be between $45 and $55 million.
A Star is Born Earnings
Cooper’s 2018 passion project, A Star Is Born, which featured Lady Gaga, was the highest payday of his career. In addition to starring in the film with Gaga, Cooper co-wrote the script and directed and produced it. He forfeited his upfront salary to reinvest in the production budget. His share was roughly 10%, earning him $40 million on a film that grossed $435 million.
Marvel Salary
Cooper has voiced the character of Rocket in three Guardians of the Galaxy films, two Avengers films, and Thor: Love and Thunder. He earned roughly $5 million for Avengers: Infinity War, and Pratt also earned $5 million by playing Star-Lord in the movie. The cast was paid lower salaries for the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films, and while Cooper’s salary has not been disclosed, he could have earned $3-$5 million from Vol. and Vol. 2 combined.
For the third movie, Pratt’s salary increased dramatically to $20 million, so it’s anybody’s guess as to how much Cooper earned. His earnings likely ranged from $25 million to $30 million across the six MCU films he’s worked on.
Highest-Grossing Movies
Cooper’s role voicing Rocket in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is responsible for six of his ten highest-grossing movies. The character appeared in both Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War, which grossed over $2 billion apiece at the global box office, for a combined $4.85 billion. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1-3 grossed $2.5 billion, and Thor: Love and Thunder grossed $761 million.
Joker is an outlier in the list, as Cooper didn’t act in the film but helped co-produce it. It grossed $335 million domestically and $1.08 billion worldwide against a budget of just $55 million.
Here’s a complete list of Bradley Cooper’s ten highest-grossing movies:
- Avengers: Endgame – $2.8 Billion (2019)
- Avengers: Infinity War – $2.05 Billion (2018)
- Joker – $1.08 Billion (2019)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – $864 Million (2017)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – $846 Million (2023)

Real Estate
In 2004, Bradley Cooper purchased a 1,571-square-foot bungalow in Venice Beach, California, for $1.2 million. The actor owned this property for almost two decades before selling it for $3.13 million in May 2023.
In early 2024, Bradley Cooper paid $6.5 million for a 33-acre farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The main house features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 6,300 square feet of living space. There’s also a separate guest house, swimming pool, and access to a 20-acre private lake.
