Introduction
Piers Morgan is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality from Newick, England. He currently hosts Piers Morgan Uncensored on YouTube, previously on Talk TV.
Piers Morgan’s net worth is approximately $20 Million.
Early Life
Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan was born on the 30th of March, 1965, in Newick, Sussex, England.
His father, Vincent Eamonn O’Meara, was an Irish-born dentist who died when Piers was an infant. From seven to thirteen, he studied at the independent school Cumnor House. Morgan then attended the comprehensive secondary institution Chailey School after his pub owner parents eventually ran out of money.
Career
After studying journalism at Harlow College, Piers Morgan started working as a freelance writer at The Sun in 1988.
In 1994, he was recruited to write the newspaper’s “Bizarre” column and then started working on the paper’s pop music section. This allowed Morgan to rub elbows with the likes of Paul McCartney while writing salacious stories about the stars.
The same year, Rupert Murdoch personally appointed Morgan to be the editor of News of the World, a weekly tabloid. At that time, the appointment made him the youngest national editor in over half a century, and he wasn’t done there.
The Daily Mirror
Piers Morgan left News of the World to become the editor of the Daily Mirror, and under his leadership, the publication started rebranding. While he was editor, he was investigated in 2000 and found to have breached the Code of Conduct on financial journalism.
Despite that, he kept his job and started adding more news about the wealthiest singers in the world and other gossip topics to the Daily Mirror. However, Morgan was soon ousted from his position in 2004 after publishing fake photographs in the wake of the Abu Ghraib torture scandal. That said, after leaving the publication, Morgan was able to refocus on his television career, which he’d started cultivating in 2003.
Piers Morgan On TV
In 2003, Piers Morgan presented the TV documentary The Importance of Being Famous and started co-hosting Morgan and Platell on Channel 4 the following year. Three years later, he was chosen by Simon Cowell to host America’s Got Talent with David Hasselhoff and Brandy Norwood.
While appearing on the second season of America’s Got Talent, he also started judging Britain’s Got Talent in 2007. The following year, he signed a two-year contract to continue as a judge on the British Show while hosting some chat shows.
In 2009, he started hosting Piers Morgan On… and the series Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, in which Sharon Osbourne was the subject of the first episode. Morgan replaced Larry King on CNN in 2011 and started hosting his show Piers Morgan Live, though poor ratings got it canceled.
Everyone Knows His Name
After guest-hosting Good Morning Britain in April 2015, he became a permanent co-host in November and remained on the show until 2021.
From 2016 to 2017, he hosted the series Killer Women with Piers Morgan, where he interviewed female murderers.
In 2018, he presented President Trump – The Piers Morgan Interview on ITV, having previously won Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice in 2008. Morgan would go on to interview Trump a handful more times and often defend his politics and policies during his presidency.
However, following the January 6 US Capital attack, Morgan quickly retracted his support, calling the former president “mentally unfit.” At the same time, he had been highly critical of Meghan Markle, Dutchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, even calling Meghan a “social climber.”
Stirring The Pot
During his tenure on Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan earned thousands of complaints from viewers and was often criticized for his behavior.
In 2020, he was accused of racism for commenting on a Chinese dairy advert calling it “ching chong ching milk,” After garnering 41,000 complaints, Ofcom launched an investigation into Morgan, and it was discovered the Duchess of Sussex had also complained.
While Ofcom ultimately cleared ITV of any wrongdoing, by November 2021 Morgan’s number of complaints had risen to 57,000. Alongside this, Morgan has entered into feuds with television guests, including actor Hugh Grant and comedian Kelsey Grammer in 2012.
Additionally, he has continued his campaign against Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, doubling down on criticism of the couple. Despite this, in 2023, he won the Scoop of the Year award at the British Sports Journalism Awards and a TRIC Award.

Piers Morgan’s net worth is $20 Million.
