Introduction
Robert Downey Jr. is an American professional actor and singer with an estimated net worth of $300 Million.
Robert’s parents were both actors during his childhood. He started acting as a young child. He initially gained recognition when he debuted in his father’s directed movie Pound (1970). Downey is one of the highest-paid actors in the industry thanks to his role as Tony Stark, A.K.A. Iron Man.
Net Worth History
When we first started tracking Downey’s net worth in 2020, it was estimated to be $300 million. Since then, he’s been a little quiet on the acting front; however, with the Doctor Doom announcement, his net worth should start rising rapidly once again.
Robert Downey Jr.’s net worth is estimated to be $300 Million in 2024. The majority of his wealth has stemmed from his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as his appearances in several other films.
Before Wealth & Fame
Downey started acting at the age of 5. His mother, Elise, was an actress just like his father, who instilled in her son a love of performing. Robert was raised in Greenwich Village with his older sister, Allison. After his debut in Pound, he would go on to have small parts in several more of his father’s movies. Downey moved to Los Angeles with his father when he was 13, after his parents divorced.
When he turned 16, he dropped out of high school and relocated to New York to live with his mother. Downey had a lot of problems with his substance abuse, including alcohol and drugs. He was introduced to drugs at the age of eight by his father, who was also a drug addict, and later in his 20s, he started to develop a full-fledged addiction. Downey Jr. has been arrested several times and has been in prison once for his drug addiction.
Acting Career
In 1993, Downey Jr. reached a career high when he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Chaplin (1992). The role displayed Robert’s dramatic range and considerable physical comedy talent. When he turned 27, Downey was recognized as one of the most gifted actors of his generation and industry.
He had a reputation around Hollywood for being a controversial and troubled person with a drug addiction. Downey anchored The Last Party, a documentary about the 1992 presidential election. In 1994, he appeared in the romantic comedy Only You.
The following year, he starred in a film restoration alongside actors Meg Ryan and Sam Neill, an updated movie version of Richard III (1995), and the Jodie Foster-directed Home for the Holidays, also starring Holly Hunter.
In 2008, Downey started playing the role of the comic superhero Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He appeared in several movies as either a member of an ensemble cast, in the lead role, or in a cameo. Each of these films has crossed over $500 million worldwide.
Examples of these include The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War, which have collectively earned over $1 billion. Downey also played an essential role in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes (2009), for which he earned his second Golden Globe award. As of 2018, the U.S. box-office grosses of Robert Downey Jr.’s movies are over $4.8 billion.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Earnings
Downey Jr.’s role as Tony Stark in the MCU is responsible for most of his career earnings. Thanks to some impressive negotiations, he’s earned more money from the franchise than any other actor. However, Robert was paid just $500,000 for his debut with the franchise in 2008’s Iron Man. Reports also suggest that his total compensation, after considering backend points, was $2.5 million.
His salary increased to $10 million for Iron Man 2 (2010). He also received $10 million upfront for the next MCU film, The Avengers (2012). However, this time, Robert secured a lucrative backend deal, which resulted in him earning an additional $40 million after the film grossed $1.52 billion at the box office.
Downey Jr. had a similar deal in place for 2013’s Iron Man 3, which also grossed over $1 billion worldwide and netted him roughly $75 million. He then earned $40 million for Age of Ultron (2015) and $75 million a piece for Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019). Let’s not forget the $40 million Robert earned from Captain America: Civil War and $15 million from a brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
In total, Downey Jr. is estimated to have earned between $380 million and $400 million from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Other Notable Film Salaries
In addition to his Marvel paydays, Robert has also earned at least another $55 million from other film salaries, including the Sherlock Holmes franchise. Downey Jr. was paid $9 million for the first Sherlock Holmes in 2009 and $15 million for the sequel in 2011. For starring in 2010’s Due Date, he earned $12 million; more recently, in 2020’s Dolittle, Robert was paid $20 million.
Doctor Doom Salary
In 2024, at the annual San Diego Comic Con, Downey Jr. appeared on stage disguised as Doctor Doom. To the surprise of many fans, he unmasked himself in front of the crowd as the new face of the character. Marvel clearly made a strategic move to keep fans enticed, and it wouldn’t come cheap. Robert will star in two upcoming Avengers films as the character, Doomsday, and Secret Wars, under a $100 million contract.
Highest-Grossing Movies
Like any other Marvel cast member, Downey Jr.’s highest-grossing movies are almost all within the superhero franchise. In fact, the only film in the top ten that is not Marvel is Oppenheimer, which grossed $975 million. His top ten films have grossed over $13.1 billion at the global box office.

Introduction
Ellen Barkin is an American professional actress and producer with an estimated net worth of $80 Million.
Barkin has enjoyed a lucrative acting career, spanning almost five decades, and starring in 71 different films/television shows. However, a large portion of her net worth is attributed to the settlement she received after her 2006 divorce from Ronald Perelman.
We’re not highly confident in current estimates of her net worth due to conflicting figures surrounding how much she received in the divorce. One party alleges that she received $20 million, and the other contends that she received almost $60 million. That said, her actual net worth could fluctuate dramatically depending on the true figure.
Ronald Perelman Divorce Settlement
Ellen Barkin was married to billionaire Ronald Perelman for approximately six years, from 2000 to 2006. In a not-so-typical circumstance, Perelman was the party to file for divorce, which is rare considering that close to 75% of divorces are initiated by the woman. At the time, Perelman was worth approximately $6 billion, and the couple had a prenuptial agreement that granted Barkin $20 million in the case of a divorce after they had been together for five years.
Now, if you look online, you will see three different figures depending on which source you look at. Nobody seems to know precisely how much Barkin received during her divorce. Some sources report the figure as $20 million, others $40 million, and some as high as $60 million. It’s easy to see where the $20 million comes from, as that amount is stipulated in the prenup.
$40 Million Calculations
We believe that the $40 million figure was calculated from the additional jewelry collection Perelman had bought for Barkin, which comprised over 100 pieces of jewelry. Immediately following their divorce, she auctioned the entire collection at Christie’s, fetching a total of $20.37 million. This could explain why some sources list $40 million as the settlement figure.
$60 Million Calculations
A friend of Perelman claimed that the total settlement amounted to $60 million after considering a $10 million payment to purchase a home, plus alimony payments of $2 million/year, and $35 million in “convertible assets”, or in other words, gifts, which would encompass the jewelry collection. A friend of Barkin’s has disputed this statement, claiming that she didn’t receive a penny over $20 million.
Real Estate
Barkin owns a beautiful home in the West Village, Manhattan. She purchased the townhouse apartment for $7.5 million after being “ousted” from her ex-husband’s mansion on the nearby Upper East Side. The home has undergone expensive renovations.

The 10 Most Inspirational Short Stories I’ve Heard
Ryan Biddulph

Love him as Iron Man Dan. I love too how he came back from some big time drug and alcohol problems. He was a punch line to many jokes for years and even woke up in a stranger’s home once but the guy made it, worth over a quarter of a billion dollars through persistence and some brilliant acting. So quick on his feet.
