John didn’t go to college, but he did serve in the U.S. Air Force from 2006-2008, as a loadmaster.

Blippi’s career began when he served active duty in the United States Air Force as a C-17 loadmaster at the 4th Nuclear Airlift Squadron and is a military veteran.

What’s interesting about Blippi’s career is that before he became the YouTube persona and children’s entertainer that most people know him to be; he originally went by another name, ‘Steezy Grossman’.

In 2013, just a year before publishing his first video on the Blippi channel, John was publishing ‘gross out’ videos under the name ‘Steezy Grossman’. The videos involved several obscene viral stunts/pranks, which we won’t go into detail on within this article.

Years later, John commented on the Steezy videos, describing them as “stupid and tasteless”, and has since had them scrubbed from the internet.

The idea for Blippi came to Stevin John after moving back to Ellensburg and witnessing his then two-year-old nephew viewing low-quality videos on YouTube.
