3 Amazing Lessons From Israel Adesanya

Israel Adesanya has lived in several different countries throughout his life, and is incredibly well-traveled with a lot of real world knowledge.

Adesanya didn’t have the roughest childhood, but had to overcome a lot of odds to get to where he is today.

These days, Adesanya is considered to be among the greatest UFC champions of all time next to the likes of Georges St. Pierre, Jon Bones Jones, and more.

Now that you know all about Israel Adesanya’s net worth, there’s a lot to learn from the former middleweight title holder.

Here are some of the best success lessons to learn from Israel Adesanya:

1. It’s Not Too Late To Start

Throughout his school years, Israel Adesanya didn’t participate in a single sport, waiting until college to do so.

Even after years of boxing and kickboxing, he was still a long way from making his UFC debut and becoming a middleweight champion.

Adesanya says that it’s not about when you start, it’s about reaching your potential when you’re fully prepared.

2. Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help

For many of us, we’re simply too proud to ask for help in the times that we struggle the most, and Israel Adesanya is no exception.

After quitting his job to train in martial arts, Adesanya said he was in the biggest depression of his life and was hesitant to reach out.

Thankfully, Adesanya swallowed his pride and surrounded himself with people who care about him, helping him to launch his career.

3. Focus On The Journey

Israel Adesanya says that people tend to focus too much on the end result or outcome rather than the journey.

In mixed martial arts, so many are caught up in caring about the wins and losses that they lose focus on the training aspect.

Because of this, Adesanya wouldn’t carry his championship belts with him wherever he went, which he claims helped his UFC career tremendously.

Summary

There are some people that were taught at a young age on how to become a UFC champion, but not Israel Adesanya.

He didn’t begin his fighting career until he was already an adult, and broke into the Ultimate Fighting Championship when he was already pushing 30 years old.

Since then, Adesanya has become one of the richest fighters in the world, and the former UFC Middleweight Champion is looking to add to his impressive resume.

As of April 2024, Israel Adesanya’s net worth is estimated to be $4 Million.

Introduction

As of April 2024, Chuck Liddell’s net worth is roughly $12 Million.

Chuck Liddell is an American former mixed martial arts fighter, who fought in the UFC 23 times and is a former Light-Heavyweight Champion.

He’s still currently one of the richest MMA fighters in the world and is included in the UFC Hall of Fame.

At 48 years old, people still highly regard him as one of the greatest light-heavyweights in the history of MMA.

Early Life

Chuck Liddell was born on the 17th December, 1969, in Santa Barbara, California.

He is of Irish decent and was raised by both his mother and his maternal grandfather.

Chuck’s grandfather was responsible for teaching him, as well as his siblings, boxing techniques from a very young age.

Liddell began studying Koei-Kan karate at 12 years old. You can see the tattoo on his head today, which reads “Koei-Kan”.

As a teenager, Liddell was a four-year starter on the San Marcos High School football team, playing centre and linebacker. Aside from football, he was also part of the wrestling team, and excelled at the sport.

While growing up in Santa Barbara, Chuck often hung around the Del Playa Drive, which was right in the centre of the party scene in the college town of Isla Vista. He often found himself fighting with drunk college students whilst spending time there.

Liddell became a Division I wrestler at California Polytechnic State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business/Accounting.

He holds an amateur kickboxing record of 20 wins and 2 losses, with 16 of those wins earned by way of knockout.

When Liddell started his MMA career, he began to train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Jon Lewis in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Career

With his impressive background as a football player and wrestler in college, Chuck Liddell brought this experience to mixed martial arts in the late 1990s.

At the peak of his professional career, he would be favorably compared to some of the highest-paid athletes in the world, and become a fan favorite in the sport.

Like other successful MMA fighters, Liddell would also make numerous appearances in movies and television shows spanning various genres.

Early Career In The UFC

Chuck Liddell began his career with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 1998, when the mixed martial arts sport was in its infancy.

Quickly dominating his weight class, he would become one of the key figures in popularizing the combat sport for a new generation of fans.

Many of his early fights against Randy Couture gained widespread attention from the sporting media, beginning with their first fight in 2002.

Having established a strong reputation with his matches against fighters including Vitor Belfort and Jeff Monson, he faced Couture in 2002.

While Liddell lost this fight, he would return to form later that year in his fight against Tito Ortiz, beating him in an impressive KO victory.

Liddell continued to enjoy many successes throughout the early to mid-2000s, while also becoming a coach on the Ultimate Fighter’s inaugural season in 2005.

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Victory

That year, he once again faced off against Randy Couture, with his victory leading to him becoming the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

Praised by the likes of Joe Rogan for his win, Liddell went on to defend his title with another victory against the fighter Jeremy Horn at UFC 54.

The following year, Liddell and Couture squared off in the octagon for their third fight, with Liddell once again taking the win through a technical knockout.

Liddell’s winning streak continued over the subsequent two years, defeating Renato Sobral in 2006 in the most successful UFC contest to date.

Finishing the year with another victory against Tito Ortiz at the UFC 66 event, Liddell won the bout in the third round, defeating Ortiz via TKO.

Declining Career From 2007

While Liddell’s winning streak made him one of the most notable fighters in mixed martial arts, his fortunes declined from 2007 onwards.

This decline began with his loss against Quinton Jackson at UFC 71, which resulted in a title loss and would lead to future failures in the sport.

Later in 2007, Liddell lost by split decision to Keith Jardine, representing the first instance in his career he had experienced consecutive losses.

While he defeated Wanderlei Silva at the UFC 79 event, additional losses against Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua signaled his inevitable retirement.

Retirement & Return To The UFC

While the UFC founder Dana White had expressed his view that Liddell should no longer fight, he nevertheless returned to fight against Rich Franklin in 2010.

Franklin defeated Liddell, knocking the one-time champion unconscious and leading Liddell to deliver an emotional post-fight speech.

Having been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2009, Liddell opted to throw in the proverbial towel, announcing his retirement that year.

Despite taking a significant break from mixed martial arts, Liddell was to fight in his final bout in 2018, when Tito Ortiz again defeated him.

Having been knocked out in the first round, Liddell’s career as an MMA fighter finally came to a definitive end in 2020.

Movie Career Highlights

In addition to his impressive career and track record as a fighter, Chuck Liddell has made many appearances in successful Hollywood movies.

In 2003, he made an uncredited appearance as a cage fighter in the Jet Li action movie, Cradle 2 the Grave, co-starring DMX and Tom Arnold.

He continued to appear in small roles in a string of movies throughout the 2000s, including The Death and Life of Bobby 2 and Bachelor Party Vegas.

Liddell’s acting career reached new heights in 2013 when he performed alongside Jim Carrey in the hit comedy Kick-Ass 2 as himself.

He has since made consistent appearances in many action films, ranging from War Pigs, in which he played Sergeant McGreevy, and Acceleration.

Notable Television Show Appearances

Chuck Liddell has complemented his big screen roles with several appearances on television shows over the years, beginning with 2006’s Blade: The Series.

The following year, he appeared in a single episode of Entourage, later voicing a character in the Matt Groening animated comedy The Simpsons.

Liddell has also made guest appearances in shows such as Blue Mountain State, Hawaii Five-O, and Bones, frequently playing himself.

Introduction

Max Holloway is a Polynesian American mixed martial artist, former UFC Featherweight Champion and current Lightweight contender.

As of April 2024, Max Holloway’s net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 Million.

Early Life

Max Holloway was born on the 4th of December, 1991, in Honolulu.

At the age of 19, Holloway had amassed a record of 4-0.

He gained recognition as the #7 featherweight prospect of 2012 in Bloody Elbow’s 2012 World MMA Scouting Report.

His early career was highlighted by a split decision win over former Strikeforce and WEC veteran Harris Sarmiento on March 12, 2011, earning himself the lightweight strap for the Hawaii-based X-1 promotion.

Career

With his troubled childhood influencing his decision to pursue a career in combat sports, Max Holloway built upon his kickboxing training as a youth.

He would win several amateur bouts as a teenager, including his debut bout after just three days of heavy training in preparation.

Over the following years, he would compare favorably to some of the richest athletes in the world by delivering a string of championship wins in MMA.

Early MMA Career & UFC Breakthrough

After a successful fighting record as a youth fighter, Max Holloway decided to enter the world of mixed martial arts in 2019 when he was nineteen years old.

He instantly stood out as a fighter to watch, picking up a record of four straight wins and gaining recognition as the seventh-placed featherweight prospect in 2012.

Compared to the likes of Anthony Pettis, he demonstrated a keen ability for bringing together a variety of powerful picks, knees, and elbows.

Holloway then joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster later in 2012, debuting against Dustin Poirier before gaining a victory against Pat Schilling.

He would continue to defeat many of his opponents over the following fights, including against Leonard Garcia, Justin Lawrence, and Dennis Bermudez.

In 2013, Holloway faced legendary UFC fighter Conor McGregor for the first time in his career, losing to the Irish fighter by unanimous decision.

Undeterred by this loss, Holloway would bounce back the following year with another series of wins against some of UFC’s biggest names.

Early To Mid-Career Highlights

Between 2014 and 2018, Max Holloway would enjoy several successful fights in the UFC, establishing a reputation as a brutal and uncompromising combatant.

After Anthony Pettis missed his weight at the UFC 206, Holloway landed his first UFC Featherweight Championship of his career.

Many of his victories were accomplished by either a unanimous decision or knockout, with Holloway facing Jose Aldo on several occasions.

He first defeated Aldo in June 2017, then beat him again later that year while defending his championship title and rising through the ranks of the sport.

Holloway would again defend his championship ranking in 2018, defeating Brian Ortega via TKO at the end of the fourth round.

This victory earned Holloway the Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night awards, with the fighter also breaking a new record for MMA.

With 290 strikes in a single fight, a new bar was set for UFC featherweight, significantly raising Holloway’s profile among fans.

2019 Weight Class Transition & Winning Streak

With Holloway receiving high praise from commentators such as Joe Rogan, his career continued to throw up numerous impressive victories.

The exception to the rule – and an ongoing thorn in his side – was Alexander Volkanovski, whom Holloway fought and lost against on three occasions.

The pair would first come into contact with one another in 2019, before once again fighting in 2021, when Holloway lost by unanimous decision.

He enjoyed more success against other opponents such as Calvin Kattar and Yair Rodriguez, earning Fight of the Night for these victories.

Introduction

Henry Cejudo is an American mixed martial artist and former freestyle wrestler from Los Angeles.

Cejudo is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the former reigning champion of both the promotion’s Bantamweight and Flyweight divisions.

As of April 2024, Henry Cejudo’s net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 Million.

Early Life

Henry Cejudo was born on the 9th of February, 1987, in Los Angeles.

Both his parents were born in Mexico City, Mexico. He is one of seven children and was raised by a single mother.

Cejudo’s parents were both undocumented immigrants and he moved nearly 50 times as a child, traveling between California, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Career

Henry Cejudo got his start in wrestling at the Sunkist Open in 2005, and he earned many significant victories while competing at the senior level.

In April 2005, he won the US National Championship and became the first high schooler to qualify since the organization was established.

Two years later, he took home the bronze medal at the World Cup and claimed his second U.S. national title.

By May, he’d earned his second Pan-American title and then made the U.S. World Team after beating Matt Azevedo.

While he wasn’t taking on opponents like The Undertaker, Cejudo’s skills, especially at his young age, were extremely impressive.

Cejudo’s Wrestling Career

In 2008, Henry Cejudo made it to the Summer Olympics, where he started with a win against Radoslav Velikov, the 2006 World Champion.

After beating Tomohiro Matsunaga, he became the youngest American to win Gold at the Olympics in wrestling history.

Cejudo then took a break from wrestling, and when he came back he claimed the Sunkist Open title once again.

During the 2012 Olympic Team Trials, he downed Obe Blanc before eventually being defeated by Nick Simmons and losing a spot on the team.

He then retired from the sport and, a year later, announced on Twitter that he was training for a new career in MMA.

Although he wasn’t destined to become one of the richest wrestlers in the world, as a mixed martial artist he would become one of the best.

A Talented Fighter

Henry Cejudo defeated Michael Poe during his MMA debut, and quickly earned a record of 6-0, making him the #1 ranked bantamweight prospect in 2013.

In 2014, Cejudo signed with the UFC, the third Olympic gold medal wrestler behind Mark Schultz and Kevin Jackson, to join the organization.

However, after missing weigh-in day, Cejudo’s first UFC bout was canceled and UFC president Dana White said he had to move to bantamweight or leave.

Cejudo made his debut against Dustin Kimura, and he won the match by unanimous decision before facing Chris Cariaso in a flyweight bout and winning.

In 2016, he faced Demetrious Johnson for the Flyweight title but lost via TKO in the first round after a series of strikes.

Two years later, he had a rematch with Johnson and won the back-and-fourth fight to become the second UFC Flyweight Champion.

He was set to defend his title against T.J. Dillashaw in 2019, but the pay-per-view was canceled and moved to UFC Fight Night 143.

Fortunately, he was able to retain his title, beating Dillashaw with a TKO just 32 seconds into the match.

Success & Retirement

Henry Cejudo faced Marlon Moraes for the UFC Bantamweight Championship and won with a TKO in the third round.

This win made him the fourth fighter to hold championships in two weight classes simultaneously in the UFC, and it earned him a Performance of the Night award.

However, after an ankle injury, Cejudo relinquished his UFC Flyweight title, so he could focus on the bantamweight division.

Unfortunately, he then suffered from a shoulder injury that made him inactive until 2020, when he focused on healing.

In May 2020, he was scheduled to face Jose Aldo, but when Aldo pulled out due to visa issues, Dominick Cruz took his place.

After winning that fight, Cejudo announced he was retiring from professional fighting, and he vacated the UFC Bantamweight Title.

He then made a comeback in 2023, facing Aljamain Sterling for the Bantamweight title, but lost via split decision.

Cejudo was then set to fight Marlon Vera, but withdrew due to injury and was replaced by Pedro Munhoz.

Most recently, he faced Merab Dvalishvili on February 17, 2024, and he won after three rounds via a unanimous decision.
