Early Life

Antonio Ramiro Romo was born on April 21, 1980, in San Diego, California, United States.

His dad, Ramiro Romo Jr., and mother, Joan Jakubowski, brought him up as a “Navy brat,” after his father was assigned to the US Naval Base in San Diego.

After some time, the Romos moved back to Burlington, Wisconsin, where Ramiro worked as a carpenter and construction worker and Joan worked as a grocery store clerk.

As a junior, Romo became the Burlington High School Demons’ starting quarterback in the 1996 season.

Even though Romo and the Demons had a losing record in 1997 of 3-6, he received multiple awards, including first-team All-State and All-Racine County football selections.

Romo was an all-around athlete who played tennis and golf, and was also a basketball starter for Burlington High School.

Some mid-major basketball colleges in the NCAA, including Wisconsin-Green Bay, were interested in signing Romo due to his statistics of 24.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

When Romo graduated from Burlington High School in 1998, he held the school’s all-time scoring record for the basketball team with 1,080 points.

Career

Romo was later invited to the 2003 NFL Combine as a backup quarterback to throw passes to other candidates during drills after initially declining the invitation.

Despite attracting the attention of certain scouts and displaying strong potential, no NFL team ultimately selected him in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Romo was actively chased by the Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan during the draft, but Dallas assistant head coach Sean Payton assured Romo of the Cowboys’ interest.

After being courted by the richest NFL teams,  Romo was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Romo was listed third on the Cowboys’ depth chart going into the 2003 training camp, behind Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson.

Tony joins other greats such as Leighton Vander, Tyron Smith, Byron Jones, and Roger Staubach who played for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys defeated the New York Giants 45-35 in the opening game of the 2007 regular season thanks to four touchdown throws from Romo and a career-first touchdown rush.

After that performance, he was named Week 1’s NFC Offensive Player of the Week, which came as a bit of a surprise.

The Cowboys’ season opener against the New York Giants included a game-winning pass from Romo to Jason Witten with seven seconds remaining.

In the 27-26 triumph, he completed 356 passes for 356 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

On January 1, 2017, Romo made his season debut in the regular season’s final game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Before Mark Sanchez took over for the remainder of the game, he fired a touchdown pass to Terrance Williams on what would turn out to be his final play.

Romo made his NFL retirement official on April 4, 2017, with the Cowboys releasing him after he announced his retirement, at his request.

How Does Tony Romo Spend His Money?

The Eastern Illinois University alumnus’s $1 million donation to Dr. Tony Evans’ Urban Alternative in 2012 was his largest contribution to date.

The foundation’s goal is to encourage churches to sponsor public schools so that they can give disadvantaged kids tutoring and other services.

In addition, Romo has been an active participant in Dallas-area community initiatives run in partnership with organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation and United Way.

Tony reportedly bought a quite modest house in the beautiful Valley Ranch area in Irving, Texas, back in 2008.

The house, which is painted entirely in black and white, is reported to have cost him only $699,000.

It was widely thought that this acquisition represented a long-term investment rather than a genuine living space for the NFL player.

He made a sizable return on his initial investment in 2016 when he sold the 5,551-square-foot house for $1.05 million.

Tony is not interested in owning the most expensive cars in the world and has more modest interests when it comes to transportation.

“I’m not the strongest, I’m not the fastest, I can’t jump the highest, so for me, it’s doing it in other ways: changing paces, using your body to get open, knowing your defender. A lot goes into it. You have to study the game.” – Devin Booker

“I seen an interview with Kobe; he said what separated him from a lot of people was everyone thought 30 points was a lot. He said he never set himself a limit, and that always sticks in my head. So he never had a limit, I don’t put a limit on anything.” – Devin Booker

“Michigan’s been recruiting me since the eighth grade, so they have a special place in my heart, I’d say, because I’ve visited there seven times, and my mom lives in Michigan, still, and she’d probably like me to stay closer to home and play.” – Devin Booker

“It’s hard because, throughout your whole career, you’re known as the top player, the best on your team, you’re playing the most minutes, and then you might not get in the game. You don’t know when you’re going to get in the game.” – Devin Booker

Introduction

Ezekiel Elliott is an American football running back for the New England Patriots of the NFL.

He played college football at Ohio State, where he earned second-team All-America honors in 2015.

He was drafted by the Cowboys fourth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

As of April 2024, Ezekiel Elliott’s net worth is $25 Million.

Early Life

Ezekiel Elliott was born on the 22nd of July, 1995, in St. Louis, Missouri.

His father, Stacy Elliott, used to be a linebacker for the Missouri Football team.

Elliott attended John Burroughs School in Ladue, Missouri.

He was proficient in many sports, including football, basketball, and track. Soon, he began playing for the John Burroughs Bombers football team.

Career

Ezekiel Elliott started his football career at Ohio State University in 2013, taking over for Carlos Hyde as the Buckeyes starter the following year.

During his second season, he was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Conference, after helping the Buckeyes win the Playoffs.

Elliott received numerous awards during his collegiate career, being named the Offensive MVP of both the 2015 Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

The same year, he was named the Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year and the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year.

Considered the most complete back to enter the NFL since Adrian Peterson in 2007, everyone was predicting Elliot to be a top-10 pick during the 2016 Draft.

A Talented Rookie

As predicted, Ezekiel Elliot was selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft as the fourth overall pick by one of the richest NFL teams, the Dallas Cowboys.

In May, he signed a four-year rookie contract worth $24.9 million with a $16.3 million signing bonus, and he made his debut against the New York Giants.

After his ninth game, Elliot became the second rookie Cowboy to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, a feat previously achieved by Tony Dorsett in 1977.

He finished his rookie year as the NFL’s top rusher with a total of 1,631 yards, the 47th-best season of all-time, the third most by a rookie.

Thanks to this, he was ranked seventh by his peers in the NFL Top 100 Players, the highest-ranked running back of the year.

Suspension And A Comeback

Despite a first season worthy of Troy Aikman, Elliott was suspended for the first six games of the 2017 season following domestic violence allegations.

However, after appealing the decision, the suspension was put on hold indefinitely by a federal judge and then reinstated shortly after.

This back and forth went on until his suspension was once again reinstated in November, and he decided to accept it.

Elliott returned to the field in Week 16, and while he played well, the Cowboys lost 21-12 and were eliminated from the playoffs.

During the 2018 season, Elliott became the 12th Cowboy to reach 25 touchdowns and stood out for being the fastest to do so.

In 2019, the Cowboys picked a fifth-year option on Elliott’s contract, but he held out, demanding a contract extension.

He got what he wanted, and in September, he signed a six-year extension for $90 million with $50 million guaranteed.

At this point, he was well on his way to becoming one of the richest NFL players in the world, thanks to his talents.

A Legend On The Field

During the 2019 season, Elliott reached 1,000 rushing yards for the season during a game against the Chicago Bears in Week 14.

He also earned his third Pro Bowl nomination and was ranked 24th by his peers in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2020.

The following season, he started off hot, but in December, he missed his first career game due to injury, but still finished the year strong.

While he didn’t receive a fourth Pro Bowl nomination, he did earn 979 rushing yards and six touchdowns in total.

For the 2021 season, the Cowboys restructured Elliott’s contract so that his $8.6 million base salary was converted into a signing bonus.

Although he was still struggling with a knee and ankle injury, he started all 17 games and was able to rush for 1,002 yards and earn 10 touchdowns.

Elliott did well during the 2022 season, earning 876 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, but in March, the Cowboys opted to release him.

Staying In The NFL

While he wasn’t with the Cowboys as long as Tony Romo, once they released him, it took a while for him to find another team.

After being rejected by the New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Philadelphia Eagles, Elliott was signed by the New England Patriots.

With a one-year contract, Elliott took to the field with his new team as their 3rd down and red zone starter behind Rhamondre Stevenson.

However, while many analysts were quick to write him off despite his skills in past seasons, Ezekiel was bound to prove them wrong.

So far in the 2023/2024 season, Ezekiel Elliott has shown he still has what it takes and that he’s not slowed down one bit.

Although he could retire and live comfortably with his fortune, it’s evident that he has no desire to leave the gridiron behind just yet.

When Ezekiel Elliott signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2016, he received a 4-year contract worth just under $25 million.

The contract’s value can be attributed to the fact that Elliott was the 4th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

It’s not often that Rookie NFL contracts reach more than $20 million, unless a player is the one of the first few overall selections.

Elliott’s initial contract came with a whopping $16.5 million signing bonus; allowing him to take home a total of $16.8 million his very first NFL season.

In 2020, Ezekiel Elliott signed a new 6-year deal with the Cowboys worth $90 million.

The deal was guaranteed for $28.1 million at signing, and $50.1 million overall.

This made 2020 Elliott’s single highest earning year thus far in his career, with him earning a total of $19.8 million.

In 2023, Elliott signed a 1-year contract with the New England Patriots, worth $3 million.

Ezekiel Elliott’s career earnings to date amount to $73.7 million, which means he’s been able to average $9.2 million a season since being drafted to the league in 2016.

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers is a French billionaire heiress and an author of Bible commentaries and works on Jewish-Christian relations.

Her family owns the company L’Oréal, and after her mother Liliane passed away, she inherited the L’Oreal fortune.

Early Life

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers is the daughter of Liliane Bettencourt.

Liliane was a French heiress, socialite, and businesswoman and she was one of the principal shareholders of L’Oréal.

At the time of her death, she was the richest woman, and the 14th richest person in the world, with a net worth of $44.3 billion.

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers married Jean-Pierre Meyers the grandson of a rabbi murdered at Auschwitz.

After marriage, the Meyers decided to raise their children as Jewish.

Her marriage caused controversy as a result of her grandfather, L’Oréal’s founder Eugène Schueller’s, the trial for collaboration with the Nazi government.

Career

As the only daughter of Liliane Bettencourt, Francoise Bettencourt’s upbringing saw her surrounded by the richest people in the world on a regular basis.

She would go on to inherit her mother’s estate, exploring her spiritual nature in literature while also serving as president of various philanthropic foundations.

Thanks to her impressive wealth, Bettencourt has influenced policy while making considerable donations to various good causes.

Position On L’Oreal’s Board In 1997

Following an upbringing that was characterized by opulence and luxury, Francoise Bettencourt entered the world of business fully in 1997.

That year, she began serving on the board of the family business L’Oréal, which had been established in the mid-nineteenth century under the brand Oreale.

Over the years since, L’Oréal has rapidly expanded to become one of the world’s leading personal care companies with a global reach.

A few years before Bettencourt joined the board, the company had purchased Synthélabo and entered the pharmaceutical field for the first time.

By 1999, under Bettencourt’s guidance, they had expanded through the Sanofi-Synthélabo merger, then again merged with Aventis in 2004.

Throughout her tenure at the company, Bettencourt would rub shoulders with some of the richest models in the world, working on various marketing campaigns.

Notable Achievements Of L’Oréal In The 2000s

L’Oréal continued to excel in market performance throughout the 2000s under the influence of Bettencourt as a major stakeholder and chairwoman.

The company acquired YSL Beauty in 2008 for an impressive $1.8 billion and further expanded its international reach in 2014.

After striking a deal to acquire NYX Cosmetics, they merged with the Chinese beauty brand Magic Holdings for $840 million.

Additional accomplishments that decade included the buyback of Nestle shares, which increased the stakes held in the company by the Bettencourt estate.

At the same time, L’Oréal was expanding in leaps and bounds, Francoise Bettencourt was forced to sue the French photographer François-Marie Banier.

After duping her mother and illicitly taking money from her, the case made international headlines when it was revealed he had stolen up to $1 billion.

Becoming L’Oréal’s Heiress In 2017

The death of Liliane Bettencourt in 2017 significantly increased the fortunes of Francoise Bettencourt as the sole heiress to her mother’s estate.

Already incredibly wealthy, she was now ranked among the richest women in the world, with a value of several billions of dollars.

The following years saw the L’Oréal brand continue to improve its overall prospects and profit margins through a series of high-profile partnerships.

In 2018, the company partnered with Valentino on a new line of fragrances and acquired the Japanese company Takami Co, which markets premium products in Japan.

Additional mergers and acquisitions in the years since have continued to increase Bettencourt’s overall net worth substantially.

Their 2023 annual financial results show their record-breaking results of double-digit growth and outstanding market performance, dominating the industry.

Role In Bettencourt Meyers’ Philanthropic Foundation

In addition to her active role within the family business, Francoise Bettencourt has played a key role in various charities and philanthropic foundations.

She has worked on the family foundation’s programs to help the French nation achieve progress in a variety of scientific and artistic pursuits.

3 Inspirational Lessons from Francoise Bettencourt

Now that you know all about Francoise Bettencourt Meyers’ net worth, and how she achieved success; let’s take a look at some of the best lessons we can learn from her:

1. Value Your Time By Putting a Price Tag On It

Your time is the greatest resource and one thing you can’t get back. To execute at the top level, you have to understand the full gravity of time. It’s imperative to prioritize your life and business in a way that lines up with what you value most.

2. Stay Curious

“Stick to what you know” is a strict school of thought in many entrepreneurship circles. After living that for many years, I’ve come to believe just the opposite.

By keeping your mind open to new ideas and embracing novelty, you make opportunities for yourself.

By exposing yourself to a multitude of businesses and products, your scope expands.

3. Control Your Thoughts

Most of my lessons came from failures, setbacks, and defeats. Although painful, they developed the self-awareness to grow.

Conversely, if you always have your blinders on, your perspective becomes too narrow and you miss out on promising opportunities.
