Introduction

Rihanna is a Barbadian professional singer, songwriter, and actress with an estimated net worth of $1.4 Billion.

This profile lays out all our research into how Rihanna built her billion-dollar empire, including the history of her annual income, her most notable business ventures, and her current assets.

Quick Facts

  • Sold 211 million albums and singles domestically
  • Earned an estimated $471 million between 2009 and 2020
  • Gross revenue of over $260 million from tours/concerts
  • The richest female music artist in the world
  • 50% stake in Fenty Beauty is worth roughly $750 million

Net Worth History

When we first began tracking Rihanna’s net worth in 2018, she was worth approximately $260 million, nowhere near her current fortune. This was before the explosion in Fenty Beauty sales, and thus, at the time, estimates of her wealth were based primarily on music and endorsement income.

When Fenty Beauty’s annual revenues skyrocketed in 2019, the value of her equity stake in the company became the most significant source of her wealth, pushing her well over the $500 million milestone by the end of the year. In 2021, Forbes first listed Rihanna as a billionaire, and the youngest self-made female billionaire at that, with a net worth of $1.4 billion. By 2022, she was worth approximately $1.7 billion, which marked the peak of her fortune.

Things have calmed down in recent years, and her net worth was calculated at $1.4 billion in 2023. At the time of writing, no changes have been reported to this figure.

2019$62,000,000
2020$46,000,000
Total$470,500,000

Between 2009 and 2020, Rihanna was consistently ranked among the world’s highest-paid singers, earning an estimated $471 million during this period, according to industry experts. Back in 2009, she was experiencing incredible success from the Good Girl Gone Bad album, which has since sold over 7 million copies in the United States, and its subsequent tour. The tour concluded at the end of January 2009, grossing approximately $10.6 million, and by the end of the calendar year, Rihanna had earned an estimated $15 million.

However, from then on, Rihanna began earning at least $26 million per year from all her endeavors. This was primarily due to newer album releases, increased tour revenues, and most notably, her shift into business ventures and brand endorsements. So, let’s take a look at some of the singer’s standout years.

In 2012, Rihanna earned an estimated $59 million from various sources, including the Talk That Talk album, released at the end of 2011. She was also beginning to see success with her perfume line, which was launched in 2010.

Since 2012, the singer’s most lucrative financial years have been 2016 and 2019, with estimated earnings of $75 million and $62 million, respectively. The former year marked the release of the ANTI album, which was released under her own record label, Westbury Road, resulting in her keeping a higher revenue share. The ANTI World Tour also took place in the same calendar year, grossing approximately $110 million across more than 70 shows.

By 2019, Fenty Beauty was generating annual revenues in the ballpark of $570 million, with Rihanna reportedly receiving 15% of all profits.

Fenty Beauty: Business Empire

September 2017 was the year of “the new generation of beauty.” With LVMH, Rihanna launched a mind-blowing makeup line called Fenty Beauty, featuring 40 shades of foundation for every skin tone, from the lightest to the darkest.

It was an unprecedented revolution in the beauty sphere. Rihanna managed to meet the needs of darker-skinned women, who were historically underserved by the beauty industry. Fenty Beauty line serves everyone: women from all over the world can’t stop buying her products.

Launched in 17 countries and 1,620 stores simultaneously, Fenty Beauty has helped Rihanna become one of the world’s most exclusive ranks: billionaire. The brand’s revenue was $100 million in its first two months and increased to $570 million by 2018. Fenty Beauty is worth $2.8 billion, with Rihanna owning 49.99% and LVMH 50.01%.

Savage X Fenty

Apart from Fenty Beauty, a global pop star also boasts her Savage X Fenty line, which was launched in 2018. A lingerie brand called Savage X Fenty immediately erupted onto the intimate apparel scene by prioritizing inclusivity over the same perfect, skinny models’ stories. Savage X Fenty includes sizes from XS to 4XL, highlighting that sexy comes in more than one size.

Today, the brand is worth $1 billion. Rihanna owns 30% of it.

Real Estate

Beverly Hills Home

In 2009, Rihanna purchased an 8,500-square-foot home in Beverly Hills for $6.9 million. However, she later sued the previous homeowner over ongoing maintenance and leaks. She took a $1.9 million loss on the property, selling it in 2011 for a flat $5 million, but received an undisclosed settlement from the lawsuit. Five years later, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen acquired the home for $14.1 million and undertook a complete renovation.

Pacific Palisades

A year after leaving Beverly Hills, Rihanna paid $65,000 monthly to rent a 10,929-square-foot modern home in Pacific Palisades. She was initially thought to have purchased the house for $12 million; however, according to Ben Bacal, one of the listing agents, she came up $180,000 short. The property last sold for $11.175 million in 2016 and has since been on and off the market.

Hollywood Hills Rental

In 2017, the singer purchased a seven-bedroom, 7,130-square-foot home in the Hollywood Hills for $6.8 million after previously renting a separate property in the area. After having issues with intruders, Rihanna listed the house for $7.5 million a year later, but nobody snapped it up. Instead, she decided to rent the property out for $35,000 per month.

Beverly Hills Homes

In 2020, after moving back to the Beverly Hills area, she purchased a 7,600-square-foot mansion for $13.75 million. Three months later, Rihanna paid $10 million for the property next door, a four-bedroom, 3,600-square-foot estate. She sold the latter property in 2023 for $10.3 million, which resulted in a slight loss after fees.

Los Angeles Penthouse

In 2023, Rihanna purchased a 9,290-square-foot penthouse in Century City, Los Angeles, for $21 million. The late Matthew Perry once owned the unit. Rihanna never actually moved into the apartment and listed it for sale just one year later. She was asking for $24.5 million but sold it for a loss at $20.75 million. After considering listing fees and commissions, she likely lost $1.5 million on the property.

Introduction

Jason Derulo is an American professional singer, dancer, and songwriter with an estimated net worth of $35 Million.

Since launching his career in the early 2010s, Jason Derulo has released five studio albums and sold more than 250 million singles worldwide. While Derulo initially built his wealth through music sales, royalties, and live performances, he’s become quite the investor in recent years. The singer claims his car wash business is worth $2 billion, though that remains debatable.

In this profile, we’ll discuss our research into Jason Derulo’s net worth and income sources, including his business ventures. We’ll also review his real estate investments and any legal issues that may have affected his finances.

Quick Facts

  • Claims a peak annual income of $30 million
  • Also claims his car wash company is worth $2 billion
  • Assets include $11 million worth of real estate in California

Income Sources

Derulo has experienced quite the career. Having initially risen to fame in 2010, following the release of his debut studio album, “Jason Derulo”, he quickly began reaching platinum status across the world. In fact, that album has since been certified platinum in six countries, including:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • New Zealand
  • Sweden
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Building on this early success, Jason released three additional albums between 2011 and 2013: Future History, Tattoos, and Everything Is 4. At that point, he took a break from the industry and returned more recently in 2024 with the release of Nu King.

To date, Derulo has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. His music has been streamed 17.8 billion times on Spotify alone. As a result, he’s consistently earned money through a variety of means, including:

  • Record sales
  • Publishing royalties
  • Streaming royalties
  • YouTube ad revenue
  • Live concerts and performances

Afro Jam Concert Lawsuit

According to recent reports, Moon Dream Production Co. and SFL Group filed two breach-of-contract lawsuits against Jason Derulo and Saweetie in 2026 for failing to perform at the 2025 Afro Jam Festival in Japan. The suit claims that Derulo received a $200,000 advance payment to perform at the festival but failed to perform because he’d already signed another deal to perform in Spain at the same time.

The promoters sought to recoup the $200,000 advance, plus an additional $300,000 for incurred expenses and punitive damages. Since this is a recent lawsuit, the case is ongoing. In Saweetie’s suit, she received a $100,000 advance, but is also facing the same allegations.

Rocket Carwash

When it comes to discussing Derulo’s net worth, there’s one thing we can’t afford to leave out, and that’s his car wash business. Now, there’s a lot to unpack here, because the singer has been rather vocal about the business in the past. Which would make sense, considering he claims it’s earned him the most money.

Now, the business that Derulo is referring to is Rocket Carwash. In a 2025 interview, he mentioned that his most successful business (he allegedly owns 13 in total) was car washing. Derulo stated that the most amount of money he’s ever earned in a single year was $30 million, and unfortunately the uploader clickbaited the title as Jason Derulo: “I Make $30 Million A Year Washing Cars…”. He wasn’t referring solely to Rocket Carwash when he said “$30 million.

According to Derulo, Rocket Carwash has 65 locations, and it’s his most recent business investment. The company operates on a subscription model, in which customers pay a monthly fee and can have their cars washed at any time. In 2023, Derulo published his own book, titled “Sing Your Name Out Loud: 15 Rules for Living Your Dream,” in which he mentioned owning a $2 billion business. A short while later, he was interviewed by Forbes, in which the interviewer asked him, “So is this the business you mentioned in your book, which is valued at $2 billion?” to which he replied, “Yes.”

However, there are two more important questions that need answering:

  1. Is Rocket Carwash really worth $2 billion?
  2. Exactly what percentage of the company does Derulo own?

What stake does Derulo hold in Rocket Carwash?

Let’s discuss the latter first. The company was founded in Omaha, Nebraska, more than two and a half decades ago, long before Derulo even began releasing music. In fact, he would have been 11 years old at the time. Thus, the company already has at least one known founder who still runs it, so we know for sure he’s not the sole owner.

Derulo’s exact stake in the business has never been publicly revealed, but based on what history tells us, it’s likely similar to a typical celebrity investment/endorsement, which could be anywhere between 1-10%.

Is Rocket Carwash really worth $2 billion?

With only 65 active locations, it would be highly unlikely that Rocket Carwash has reached a $2 billion valuation. They do have a competitor named Mister Car Wash, which was sold to Leonard Green & Partners for $3.1 billion in May 2026. Fortunately, much more information is available for Mister Car Wash’s financials:

  • Locations: 549
  • 2025 total Revenue: $1.051 billion
  • Implied Average revenue per location: $1.91 million
  • Sale price: $3.1 billion
  • Annual revenue multiple: 2.95X
  • Implied enterprise value per location: $5.65 million
  • Q1 2026 revenue: $277.9 million
  • 76% of revenues driven by subscription model

Let’s just assume that each of Rocket Carwash’s locations generates average revenues identical to those of Mister Car Wash. Let’s also assume that the company’s potential value is calculated using the same revenue multiple.

With 65 locations, each generating $1.91 million in annual revenue, Rocket Carwash could generate an estimated $124.1 million in annual revenue. With a 2.95 multiple, its estimated valuation would be approximately $366 million. A safer assumption would be between $320 million and $400 million.

So, do we believe the company is worth $2 billion? No. However, Mister Car Wash has proven that with expansion, it is certainly possible. How much is Derulo’s stake worth?

Here are some hypothetical scenarios we can put forward to you:

  • 5% stake: $16-$20 million
  • 10% stake: $32-$40 million
  • 20% stake: $64-$80 million

All the information above on Rocket Carwash’s valuation and Jason Derulo’s stake is an estimate only, not a confirmed figure. Our calculations may very well be off by a significant margin.

Real Estate

In November 2014, Jason Derulo purchased a 10,844-square-foot, seven-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion in Tarzana, California, for $3 million. The property also features a 75-foot pool, a home gym, a sauna, a guest house, a music studio, and an outdoor basketball court. He then purchased the adjacent, four-bedroom, three-bathroom property, featuring 3,658 square feet of living space for $1.1 million in September 2020. At the time of writing, the two homes are worth a combined $7.5 million.

In August 2017, the singer paid $978,000 for a 6,607-square-foot home in Davie, Florida, featuring five bedrooms and four bathrooms. According to Zillow, the home is currently valued at just under $2 million.

In 2022, Derulo paid $3.6 million for a 5,000-square-foot, five-bedroom house in Encino, California, for his ex-girlfriend, Jena Frumes, and his son.

Introduction

John Legend is an American professional singer, songwriter, activist, actor, and record producer with an estimated net worth of $100 Million.

Since the release of his debut live album, Live at Jimmy’s Uptown, in 2001, Legend has put out 10 studio albums, 6 live albums, and several other releases. To date, he’s earned hundreds of millions of dollars from record sales, royalties, music production, and other endeavors.

In this profile, we’ll outline our extensive research into John Legend’s net worth, music career, and earnings from additional endeavors. We’ll take a look at some of the ways he spends his fortune.

Quick Facts

  • Earns $13 million per season from The Voice
  • Sold 32 million records in the United States
  • Grossed over $84 million in tour revenue
  • Assets include a 10,700-square-foot, $18.6 million mansion in Beverly Hills

Music Career

Legend’s entrance into the music industry began as a ghostwriter, but after meeting Kanye West at an event, he was signed to the G.O.O.D. Music record label. In December 2004, John released his debut studio album, Get Lifted, which sold 116,000 copies in its first week and reached 7th on the Billboard 200. The album was certified platinum in the United States within two months and has sold over 3 million copies worldwide to date.

Throughout the years, John Legend has released ten studio albums, including Once Again (2006), Evolver (2008), Wake Up! (2010), and Love in the Future (2013). While none of them sold as many copies as his debut album, many of them sold over 1 million copies and were certified platinum in North America.

In 2013, Legend released the single “All of Me” as part of his 2013 album, Love in the Future. The album itself sold over 2 million copies, but the single was the standout. To date, it’s sold over 14 million copies in the United States and is the only single of Legend’s career to be certified Diamond.

Tour Revenues

Over the last two decades, John Legend has held 9 major concert tours, but box office revenues have typically not been reported. According to Pollstar, Legend’s major concerts have grossed $84.1 million since 2004. That’s the total gross revenue for all reported shows (254), which averages $331,100 per show.

However, we had an inkling that this didn’t account for every show within those tours, so we did the math. Here’s a list of every John Legend tour and the estimated number of shows for each:

  • Get Lifted Tour (2005) – 50+ shows (estimate)
  • Once Again Tour (2007) – 60+ shows (estimate)
  • Evolver Tour (2009) – 50+ shows (estimate)
  • All of Me Tour (2014-2015) – 93 shows (confirmed)
  • Darkness and Light Tour (2017-2018) – 64 shows (confirmed)
  • A Legendary Christmas Tour (2018) – 25 shows (announced)
  • Bigger Love Tour (2021) – 30 shows (confirmed)
  • An Evening with John Legend (2023) – 24 shows (confirmed)
  • Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour (2025) – 44 shows (confirmed)

First and foremost, Pollstar’s figures didn’t account for gross revenues or shows from the 2025 Get Lifted Anniversary Tour. Based on the information above, we have roughly 396 shows, substantially more than the 254 reported.

Now, you might think we could simply take his lifetime average and multiply it by 396, yielding a more accurate estimate of $131.1 million in lifetime tour revenues. However, we don’t know exactly which tours are unaccounted for within Pollstar’s report. Finally, we have to add the Anniversary tour, which comprised 44 shows.

In summary, John Legend has probably grossed somewhere between $130 million and $160 million from his nine major concert tours. This is not his net income; it’s only the revenues that the events brought in.

The Voice Salary

According to reports, John Legend earns $13 million per season as a coach on The Voice. Thus far, he’s been involved for eight full seasons, with brief appearances in three other seasons. Assuming he earned the same salary for all eight seasons, John Legend should have earned at least $104 million from the show.

That said, his earnings may vary from season to season. It’s also unknown how much he was paid for his brief appearances. With an average of 26 episodes per season, his salary translates to approximately $500,000 per episode.

Music Catalog Sale

Perhaps one of the most significant transactions concerning John Legend’s fortune occurred in September 2021, when he sold his back catalog for an undisclosed sum. Now, the reports don’t specify exactly which songs/albums were included in the sale. Thus, it could involve his entire back catalog since 2004, or it could just include part of it. The acquisition was split between two companies, with DL Music IP and BMG Rights Management each acquiring a 50% stake.

Real Estate

In January 2016, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen acquired Rihanna’s 8,520-square-foot, five-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom home in Beverly Hills, California. They paid $14.1 million for the property and spent a substantial amount of money remodeling the house, which now features walk-in closets, a home gym, and a theater. Towards the end of 2020, they put the property back on the market, shortly after purchasing their new home. However, with an initial asking price of $23.95 million, it struggled to find a buyer. Nine price reductions later, the couple let it go for just $16.8 million in June 2021.

In September 2020, John and Chrissy paid $17.5 million for a 10,700-square-foot, seven-bedroom, eleven-bathroom home in Beverly Hills, California. The property spans 0.87 acres and boasts amenities such as a home theater and an infinity pool. They still own the house, which now has an estimated value of $18.58 million, and it costs the couple approximately $220,000 in annual property taxes.

Tour Revenues

A substantial portion, if not the lion’s share, of Beyoncé’s lifetime income has been earned on tour. To date, the singer has held ten major concert tours, and several residencies, which we’ll discuss separately. Below, we’ll take a look at how much revenue each of her tours has grossed, but here’s a quick summary, in chronological order:

  1. Dangerously in Love Tour (2003) – $4 million
  2. Verizon Ladies First Tour (2004) – $19.4 million
  3. The Beyoncé Experience (2007) – $90 million
  4. I Am… Tour (2009-2010) – $119.5 million
  5. The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour (2013-2014) – $229.7 million
  6. On the Run Tour (2014) – $109 million
  7. The Formation World Tour (2016) – $256 million
  8. On the Run II Tour (2018) – $253.5 million
  9. Renaissance World Tour (2023) – $579.8 million
  10. Cowboy Carter Tour (2025) – $407.6 million

From just $4 million in 2003 to $579.8 million two decades later, Beyoncé has now grossed approximately $2.069 billion from her ten major concert tours. Here’s a more in-depth look at each of them.

1. Dangerously in Love Tour

  • Dates: November 3, 2003 – November 19, 2003
  • Number of shows: 10
  • Attendance: 100,000
  • Box office revenues: $4 million
  • Average per show: $400,000

Held in support of Beyoncé’s debut album of the same name. The tour was exclusive to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands, bringing in $4 million from just ten performances.

2. Verizon Ladies First Tour

  • Dates: March 12, 2004 – April 21, 2004
  • Number of shows: 30
  • Attendance: 280,865
  • Box office revenues: $19.4 million
  • Average per show: $646,666

This was a co-headlining tour between Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and Missy Elliott, comprising 30 shows in the United States, all of whom had just released new albums.

3. The Beyoncé Experience

  • Dates: April 10, 2007 – November 12, 2007
  • Number of shows: 96
  • Attendance: 272,521
  • Box office revenues: $90 million
  • Average per show: $937,500

The Beyoncé Experience was her first world tour, with shows held in North America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Naturally, it marked a significant step up in activity and the average gross per show.

4. I Am… Tour

  • Dates: March 26, 2009 – February 18, 2010
  • Number of shows: 103
  • Attendance: 1,214,842
  • Box office revenues: $119.5 million
  • Average per show: $1.16 million

By this point, Beyoncé had officially reached the milestone of $1+ million per performance, and this was the first of her tours to gross more than $100 million.

5. The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour

  • Dates: April 15, 2013 – March 27, 2014
  • Number of shows: 132
  • Attendance: 2,049,692
  • Box office revenues: $229.7 million
  • Average per show: $1.74 million

Co-headlined with Jay-Z, The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour attracted more than 2 million attendees, nearly doubling the total gross revenues of her last tour.

6. On the Run Tour

  • Number of shows: 21
  • Attendance: 979,781
  • Box office revenues: $109 million
  • Average per show: $5.19 million

While not among her highest-grossing concert tours, the On the Run Tour marked a very crucial milestone. Beyoncé’s average gross revenue per show exceeded $5 million for the first time. From this point onwards, her concerts would never bring in less than $5 million from each performance.

7. The Formation World Tour

  • Dates: April 27, 2016 – October 7, 2016
  • Number of shows: 49
  • Attendance: 2.24 million

Netflix Deal

In 2019, Beyoncé signed a three-project deal with Netflix, reportedly worth $60 million, paying her $20 million per project. The following year, she released the first of the three, titled Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, a documentary detailing her 2018 performance at Coachella. The second project came five years later, when she performed “Cowboy Carter” live at the Christmas NFL Halftime Show with Post Malone and Shaboozey. As for the contract’s third and final obligation, nothing has been confirmed.

Pepsi Endorsement Deal

Beyoncé has signed many a lucrative endorsement deal throughout her career, but to quote Sesame Street, one of these things is not like the other. The singer has worked with Pepsi on numerous occasions, ever since 2002, when she first partnered with the company.

Between 2002 and 2012, Beyoncé appeared in five Pepsi campaigns. However, in December 2012, she secured a multi-year $50 million deal with the company. That said, this wasn’t the amount that she earned from the contract. The $50 million figure encompassed media placements, promotion, and the like. According to reports, Beyoncé personally received roughly 25% of the value, or $12.5 million.

Additional Endorsement Deals

As for the rest of Beyoncé’s brand endorsements, here’s what we know. The singer has worked with at least a dozen brands in the last two and a half decades, including:

  • American Express
  • Emporio Armani
  • H&M
  • L’Oréal Paris
  • Nintendo
  • Peloton
  • Samsung
  • Tiffany & Co.
  • Toyota
  • Verizon

Back in 2008, when Forbes featured her on the Celebrity 100, it estimated her annual endorsement income at $10 million, including American Express and L’Oréal. At the time, Beyoncé had an estimated overall income of $80 million, and brand endorsements accounted for roughly 12.5% of her earnings. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any more information on how much each of these individual partnerships was worth.

Real Estate

Manhattan Condo

Before marrying Jay-Z, Beyoncé paid $5 million in 2005 for a 2,669-square-foot condo in midtown Manhattan. Just before the couple purchased their Bel-Air mansion, she parted with the unit in 2017 for $9.95 million.

Bel-Air Mansion

In 2017, Beyoncé and Jay-Z paid $88 million for an 18,778-square-foot, eight-bedroom mansion in Bel-Air. Initial reports indicated that the couple had submitted a $120 million bid, but the confirmed closing price is more than $30 million lower. After purchasing the home, they continued renting out another property for $400,000 while improvements were made on their new $88 million property.

The house includes a 15-car garage, a recording studio, bulletproof windows, a wellness center, and a full-size basketball court. They also added additional security quarters next to the front and back roads. They reportedly still own the home, and the annual property taxes are estimated to exceed $1 million.

East Hampton Home

Later in the year, the power couple purchased the Pond House, a 12,000-square-foot home in East Hampton. They paid $26 million for the seven-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom house, which sits on 2 acres and includes a 1,800-square-foot detached guest house.

Malibu Mega Mansion

In 2024, Beyoncé and Jay-Z broke a property sale record in California when they paid $190 million for a 40,000-square-foot mega mansion in Paradise Cove, Malibu. The home, which took 15 years to build and combines multiple lots, became the most expensive home ever sold in California. However, another sale in 2024 recently broke this record. The house was initially listed for $245 million and could cost the couple $2 million annually in property taxes.
