Introduction
Julie Kavner is an American professional actress and voice actor with an estimated net worth of $85 Million.
Quick Facts
- Potentially earned between $140 million and $150 million from The Simpsons
- Currently earns $300,000 per episode (as of the last known reports)
Early Career
Before becoming the iconic voice of Marge Simpson, Kavner attended San Diego State University and majored in drama. After graduating, she took a day job as a typist for the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture, but never gave up on acting.
In 1973, Julie Kavner auditioned for the Mary Tyler Moore Show as one of Rhoda Morgenstern’s sisters, though the part went to another actress. However, when the spin-off series Rhoda kicked off, Kvaner was cast as Brenda Morgenstern, Rhoda’s other sister, in her first professional acting role. Kavner appeared on the show from 1974 to 1978 and received Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her performance.
After Rhoda, Kavner appeared in Taxi and Bad Medicine, the film Surrender, and the stage play It Had To Be You. In 1987, she was cast as Tracey Ullman’s sidekick in The Tracy Ullman Show, earning her more Primetime Emmy nominations.
The Simpsons (1989-)
Julie Kavner’s career hit a whole new level in 1989 when she was cast as Marge Simpson in the Fox animated series The Simpsons. While no one knew it at the time, this series would become one of the best TV shows ever, spanning over 30 seasons. The Simpson family was first seen as a series of animated shorts on The Tracy Ullman Show, and its popularity was undeniable.
After three seasons of shorts, Matt Groening got the opportunity to transform it into a primetime show with its original voice actors. Along with voicing Marge Simpson, Kavner also voices her sisters, Patti and Selma Bouvier, her mother, Jacqueline, and Great-Aunt Gladys. However, having voiced Marge for over 30 years, Kavier’s voice has taken a toll from the role, which fans have noticed in later seasons.
Other Acting Work
While Kavner is best known for The Simpsons, in 1992, she starred in This Is My Life, her first leading role in a film. She has also appeared in several Woody Allen films, including Hannah and Her Sisters, Radio Days, Alice, and Shadows and Fog.
Along with playing Marge, Kavner has done a lot of other voice work, including characters in The Lion King 1 ½ and Dr. Dolittle. Kavner can also be found in all The Simpsons video games, dating back to 1991 with Konami’s The Simpsons arcade game.
The Simpsons Salary
The Simpsons premiered on Fox in 1989, and the cast members were reportedly paid between $5,000 and $30,000 per episode. Kavner was paid $30,000 per episode until 1998, when she cut a new deal. Up until that point, Kavner had worked on 186 episodes of The Simpsons, earning her roughly $5.5 million.
1998 Contract Negotiations: $50,000 per episode
In 1998, Kavner and Nancy Cartwright negotiated new contracts for $50,000 per episode. The other four prominent voice actors followed suit and banded together to try to secure increases, resulting in all six members being paid $50,000/episode, with a $10,000 per-season increase for three years.
The deal earned Kavner $750,000 for the remainder of season nine, $1.38 million for season ten, $1.54 million for season eleven, and $1.68 million for season twelve.
2001 Contract Dispute: $100,000 per episode
In 2001, the six principal cast members negotiated a new $100,000/episode salary. The deal applied to seasons thirteen and fourteen, with season fifteen paying them $125,000. They also each received a $1 million bonus in place of future syndication shares. Kavner would have earned $8.15 million during this time.
2004 Pay Dispute: $250,000 per episode
The voice actors demanded pay raises again in 2004. After negotiations, Kavner’s salary/episode increased to roughly $250,000, earning her an estimated $21.25 million from 2004 to 2008. The producers reluctantly increased the cast’s salary to $400,000/episode in 2008, but only briefly. The deal ended in 2011, with Kavner having earned $26.4 million.
2011 Pay Dispute: $300,000 per episode
In 2011, Fox renewed the show for two seasons but had to reduce the cast’s salaries to $300,000. This was the last known pay dispute. Since then, 282 episodes have aired, which could have earned Kavner another $84.6 million. She has potentially earned between $140 million and $150 million in salary from The Simpsons.

Introduction
Bradley Cooper is an American professional actor and filmmaker with an estimated net worth of $100 Million.
Although most people know him from The Hangover Trilogy, many of his biggest paydays have come later in his career. Cooper’s films have grossed $13.05 billion worldwide, placing him among the top ten highest-grossing actors of all time.
This is primarily due to his voice-acting role as Rocket within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cooper has worked on six films voicing the character, earning an estimated $25-$30 million.
His single largest payday came from banking on himself by forfeiting his salary from A Star Is Born, a movie he directed, produced, and co-wrote. The film is currently the eleventh-highest-grossing of his career, earning him an estimated $40 million.
Quick Facts
- Only received $600,000 for the original The Hangover film
- Earned roughly $50 million from The Hangover trilogy
- Forfeited salary for A Star is Born to re-invest in production
- Earned an estimated $40 million from A Star is Born (10% backend)
- He was paid $5 million to voice Rocket in Avengers: Infinity War
- Potentially earned between $25-$30 million from Marvel
Earnings & Salary
| Year | Project | Salary |
|---|---|---|
| 2009 | Hangover | $600,000 |
| 2011 | Hangover II | $25,000,000 |
| 2013 | Hangover III | $25,000,000 |
| 2013 | American Hustle | $2,500,000 |
| 2018 | A Star is Born | $40,000,000 |
| 2018 | Avengers: Infinity War | $5,000,000 |
| Total Calculated Earnings: | $97,100,000 | |
The Hangover Trilogy Salaries
Cooper’s earliest recorded salaries originate from his breakthrough role as Phil in The Hangover trilogy. Although the first movie in the franchise had a $35 million production budget, the four prominent cast members were paid less than $1 million each. Cooper was reportedly paid the most, at $600,000, due to his greater star power than that of Helms, Galifianakis, and Bartha.
The film grossed $469 million at the box office despite Warner Bros.’ doubts, which led to two higher-paying sequels for the cast. When a new deal was negotiated for The Hangover Part II, all four prominent cast members received a $5 million salary plus 4% of the backend gross profits. The movie grossed $587 million worldwide against a $80 million budget, earning each actor an estimated $20 million. Including their upfront salary, this became a $25 million payday for Cooper.
For the third movie in the trilogy, the actors were now asking for a $15 million upfront salary plus a backend percentage. While the exact percentage remains undisclosed, it was likely close to 4%. However, The Hangover Part III struggled at the box office, bringing in just $362 million on a much higher $103 million budget (presumably due to inflated cast salaries). The cast would have earned roughly $25 million apiece for the third installment if our calculations are correct.
This would put Cooper’s earnings from the trilogy at $51 million. The exact number will likely be between $45 and $55 million.
A Star is Born Earnings
Cooper’s 2018 passion project, A Star Is Born, which featured Lady Gaga, was the highest payday of his career. In addition to starring in the film with Gaga, Cooper co-wrote the script and directed and produced it. He forfeited his upfront salary to reinvest in the production budget. His share was roughly 10%, earning him $40 million on a film that grossed $435 million.
Marvel Salary
Cooper has voiced the character of Rocket in three Guardians of the Galaxy films, two Avengers films, and Thor: Love and Thunder. He earned roughly $5 million for Avengers: Infinity War, and Pratt also earned $5 million by playing Star-Lord in the movie. The cast was paid lower salaries for the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films, and while Cooper’s salary has not been disclosed, he could have earned $3-$5 million from Vol. and Vol. 2 combined.
For the third movie, Pratt’s salary increased dramatically to $20 million, so it’s anybody’s guess as to how much Cooper earned. His earnings likely ranged from $25 million to $30 million across the six MCU films he’s worked on.
Highest-Grossing Movies
Cooper’s role voicing Rocket in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is responsible for six of his ten highest-grossing movies. The character appeared in both Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War, which grossed over $2 billion apiece at the global box office, for a combined $4.85 billion. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1-3 grossed $2.5 billion, and Thor: Love and Thunder grossed $761 million.
Joker is an outlier in the list, as Cooper didn’t act in the film but helped co-produce it. It grossed $335 million domestically and $1.08 billion worldwide against a budget of just $55 million.
Here’s a complete list of Bradley Cooper’s ten highest-grossing movies:
- Avengers: Endgame – $2.8 Billion (2019)
- Avengers: Infinity War – $2.05 Billion (2018)
- Joker – $1.08 Billion (2019)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – $864 Million (2017)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – $846 Million (2023)
- Guardians of the Galaxy – $773 Million (2014)
- Thor: Love and Thunder – $761 Million (2022)
- The Hangover Part II – $587 Million (2011)
- American Sniper – $548 Million (2014)
- The Hangover – $469 Million (2009)
Real Estate
In 2004, Bradley Cooper purchased a 1,571-square-foot bungalow in Venice Beach, California, for $1.2 million. The actor owned this property for almost two decades before selling it for $3.13 million in May 2023.
In early 2024, Bradley Cooper paid $6.5 million for a 33-acre farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The main house features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 6,300 square feet of living space. There’s also a separate guest house, swimming pool, and access to a 20-acre private lake.

One of Jolie’s earliest recorded paydays was in 1998, when she received $50,000 for Playing by Hart. Despite being an absolute box-office flop, grossing just $4 million against a $20 million budget, her notoriety from the role helped her secure higher paydays the following year. In 1999, Jolie was paid $200,000 for Girl, Interrupted and $150,000 for The Bone Collector.
In 2000, she was paid $350,000 to star alongside Nicolas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds, which would be her last 6-figure salary before she could command multiple seven-figure sums per film. For comparison, Cage earned $20 million for his role in the movie.
Tomb Raider Salary
When Jolie landed the role of Lara Croft in 2001’s Tomb Raider, she was paid a $7 million salary. Although Tomb Raider isn’t one of her highest-grossing movies, it still grossed $275 million at the box office. Two years later, she received a salary of $12 million for the sequel, Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life.
2000s Earnings
Between 2005 and 2007, Jolie had several notable paydays, including $10 million for Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), $8 million for The Good Shepherd (2006), $8 million for Beowulf (2007), and $4 million for A Mighty Heart (2007).
In the late 2000s, Jole produced some of the highest-earning years of her career. She received a salary of $15 million for Wanted (2008), $19 million for The Tourist (2010), and her first $20 million payday for Salt (2010). In 2010, Forbes named her the highest-paid actress in the world, with a combined $30 million in earnings that year.
Family Film Salaries
Although Jolie was earning huge paydays from action roles, she would begin transitioning to family films, most notably Kung Fu Panda and Maleficent. According to a 2013 Forbes article, her role in Maleficent earned her an estimated $15 million salary. Forbes also stated that Jolie was estimated to earn $33 million for the year, comprising her Maleficent salary, a $10 million contract with Louis Vuitton, and additional endorsements. Many low-quality websites misread this as Jolie earning $33 million solely from the movie, which is incorrect. Angelina Jolie did not earn $33 million for the first Maleficent film.
Recent Film Salaries
Jolie’s most recent film salary includes $10 million for Eternals (2021). She also starred in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), but her salary was not disclosed.
Highest-Grossing Movies
Despite having a highly lucrative career within the action genre in the 2000s, most of Jolie’s highest-grossing movies have come in recent years after switching to family films. Her roles as Maleficent and the voice of Tigress in Kung Fu Panda account for her top five box office hits.
The original Maleficent movie grossed $760 million at the global box office, and its sequel grossed $492 million. Kung Fu Panda 1-3 grossed a combined $1.82 billion worldwide, with the second film in the series grossing the most.
Some notable films that didn’t make Jolie’s top ten list include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ($275 million), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life ($160 million), and Girl, Interrupted ($48 million).

Malibu Home
In March 2005, Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt paid $8.41 million for a 4,088-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Malibu. They sold the house to Ellen DeGeneres in December 2011 for $12 million. The property was most recently sold in 2022 for a whopping $45 million.
California Compound
While still together, Pitt and Jolie bought numerous properties on Briarcliff Road and Valley Oak Drive in Los Angeles, California. This included paying $1.1 million in August 2009 for a 3,232-square-foot home next door to their 6,700-square-foot, six-bedroom property. They also owned a 1,653-square-foot property at the back of the land. Together, this formed a single compound totaling roughly 1.84 acres.
While finalizing their divorce, it appears they sold all three properties for $33 million in 2023. Each of the three previous real estate listings now shows a sold price of $33 million as of March 28, 2023.
