Jody Scheckter is a South African race car driver and businessman who competed from 1972 to 1980.

During his career, he achieved 10 victories for Ferrari, McLaren, Tyrrel, and Wolf and won the Formula One World Championship in 1979 for Ferrari.

He gave up racing and started a business, FATS Inc., which produced firearm training simulators for use by security, military, and law enforcement agencies.

To support his sons Tomas and Toby’s racing careers, Jody sold the business and is currently a biodynamic farmer, and a popular face in movies and television shows.

As of October 2023, Jody Scheckter’s net worth is estimated to be $100 Million.

Jody Scheckter Facts

  • Scheckter won the Formula One World Championship in 1979 and is still the only driver from Africa to hold the title.
  • Due to his temperament, he tried racing, first with motorbikes and subsequently in saloon cars. Due to his careless driving in his first national race, he was eliminated from the circuit.
  • After winning the South African Formula Ford championship in 1970, he was awarded the Driver to Europe scholarship.
  • Scheckter was referred to as the “South African Wild Man” and his tough exterior and feisty demeanor seemed to match his sometimes-erratic driving and a short fuse.
  • He was the first racing car driver admitted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1983 and is widely regarded as the finest Jewish race car driver in history.

Early Life

Jody David Scheckter was born January 29, 1950, in East London, South Africa.

Scheckter began to drive when he was relatively young, but he only knew one speed – fast, and not happy unless he was going flat out.

His father owned a Renault dealership, and Jody worked there as an engineering apprentice. With his competitive mindset, he tried racing, initially on bikes and then in saloon cars.

He was disqualified from the circuit after his maiden national race for reckless driving but eventually developed the skill to control his aggression and turn into a consistent winner.

Jody attended Hudson Park High School and Selborne College and received the “Driver to Europe” scholarship in 1970, after winning the South African Formula Ford championship.

Scheckter began his quest to become the best driver in the world with the help of his prize, £300 in cash and tickets to England for him and his wife Pam.

The “South African Wild Man” soon established himself in England as a machine spinner and winner in the Formula Ford and Formula Three vehicles he raced fearlessly but frequently crashed.

His rough appearance and feisty demeanor appeared to go down well with his somewhat reckless driving.

He was not to be trifled with, speaking plainly and with a fiery temper, his woolly hair and distinctive frown were intimidating to race officials and competitors alike.

However, his speed was unquestionable, and when he was able to maintain it, his car handling was superb.

Visionary talent scouts believed that the driver was a gem in the rough who only needed some polishing to become a Formula One powerhouse to be reckoned with.

In 1979, Enzo Ferrari invited Scheckter to join one of the most popular luxury car brands, Ferrari Scuderia, and join Gilles Villeneuve in the innovative, ground-effect 312T4 race car.

Scheckter drove consistently and tactically the whole season, winning 3 races and becoming the Formula One Championship winner in 1979.

To top it all, he was able to take Ferrari to a Constructors’ Win, but was unable to remain competitive in 1980 and retired from racing at the end of the season.

He is one of the richest racing drivers in the world and joins Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, and Lewis Hamilton as the most successful drivers on the circuit.

He later sold the $100 million business he’d built, with 280 staff and a presence in 35 countries, to take time off to manage his sons’ racing careers.

After driving the most expensive Ferraris in the world, he started an organic farming business in Hampshire, England called Laverstoke Park Farm.

Jody Scheckter’s Career Earnings

Jody was given a test drive by McLaren in the 1972 US Grand Prix before being hired for sporadic appearances in a third vehicle throughout the 1973 campaign.

Scheckter made an immediate impression in Formula One, capturing the lead at the start of the French Grand Prix. The impact this had on his earnings cannot be underestimated as it was an indication of just how good a driver he was.

As Scheckter is now retired, calculating his annual income accurately is not possible, although there are reports that he earns in excess of $10 million per year.

The Scheckter McLaren that crashed into Emerson Fittipaldi’s Lotus, sending the Lotus spinning off the track and the reigning world champion into a raging frenzy was a defining moment.

Fittipaldi yelled, “This lunatic is a danger to himself and everyone else and does not belong in F1”.

How wrong could he be, as history proved that Scheckter did indeed belong in F1 and he would end up earning millions from his world championship win in 1979.

Scheckter joins Mario Andretti, Alain Prost, David Coulthard, and Jackie Stewart as iconic Formula 1 racing drivers.

Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth Annually

During Scheckter’s following race, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the anti-Scheckter movement gathered significant steam.

When the congested field of 28 cars converged on the 150 mph Woodcote circuit, Jody qualified sixth on the grid and moved up to fourth on the first lap.

Here’s a breakdown of Jody Scheckter’s annual net worth:

  • Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth In 2017 – $60 Million
  • Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth In 2018 – $70 Million
  • Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth In 2019 – $80 Million
  • Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth In 2020 – $90 Million
  • Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth In 2021 – $97 Million
  • Jody Scheckter’s Net Worth In 2022 – $100 Million

But he struck the cement wall in front of the Silverstone pits hard, and the McLaren lost control, spinning erratically in the middle of the pack.

The chaos he had started continued for some time as Jody climbed out of the smoking debris, unharmed.

Personal Life

Jody Scheckter is married and has six children; two from his first marriage to Pamela, Toby, and Tomas, and four from his current marriage to Clare, Hugo, Freddie, Ila, and Poppy.

His daughter Ila, age 21, passed away tragically on October 17, 2019, as she was preparing for further brain surgery.

After a prosperous commercial career in the US, Clare Scheckter relocated to the UK in 1996.

While there, she played a key role in the founding of Laverstoke Park Farm, a 2,500-acre organic and biodynamic estate in Hampshire, England.

Since its launch by HRH Princess Royal in 2002, the Laverstoke Park Education Centre has hosted over 15,000 young people for free agricultural educational visits.

Thankfully, Andrea de Adamich of Surtees was the only one hurt, however, eight cars were completely wrecked.

  • Scheckter replaced Martin Brundle as the commentator in the 1999 San Marino Grand Prix.

Jody Scheckter was found to be at fault for the worst Formula One collision ever but was lucky to keep racing.

Following a turbulent but productive career, Jody believed he had succeeded in achieving the only goal that counted, winning the Formula One Drivers Championship.

How Does Jody Scheckter Spend His Money?

After winning the Formula One world championship in his Ferrari 312 T4 in 1979, Jody Scheckter gave up racing in 1980.

Later, he focused on business, launching the wildly successful FATS Inc in America.

Currently, he is content to work at Hampshire’s Laverstoke Park Farm as a multiple-award-winning farmer.

To add to the Ferrari race car he owned, Jody started collecting a number of the most expensive cars in the world that had driven over the years.

He currently has a substantial car collection after adding a Tyrrell P34, also known as a 6-wheel Tyrrell, as well as a Wolf WR1, McLaren M23, and a McLaren M19.

He also added a McLaren M21, Rondel Motul M1, the Merlyn Mk21, a Trojan T101, Merlyn Mk11a, and his beloved Porsche 917.

He also owns property in South Africa worth more than $20 Million in Cape Town and posts pictures of his sea views on his Twitter account.

Critics predicted he wouldn’t get along with Ferrari’s tyrannical management, but he far outperformed expectations, helping them win the Constructors’ Championship.

He drove consistently throughout the season, winning three races and finally winning the Drivers’ Championship in 1979.

With 16 tackles and two interceptions in eight games for the Panthers, Gilmore’s performance earned him a shot at playing for the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts signed a two-year contract with Gilmore that could see him earn up to $23 million but came with a $14 million guarantee.

Between 2021 and 2022, Stephon continued to put in a huge effort, trying to get back into the top-flight arena and take up where he left off.

Source of Wealth:Professional Rapper
Last Updated:October 2, 2023

As of October 2023, Lyfe Jennings’ net worth is $500 Thousand.

Lyfe Jennings is an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, and producer. He plays multiple instruments, including the guitar, bass, and piano, which he integrates into his music.

He was referred to by The New York Times as a “socially minded R&B singer”.

Not the multi-million dollar net worth of most successful hip-hop artists, but still impressive. Let’s take a look at Lyfe Jennings’ story…

Early Life

Lyfe Jennings was born on the 3rd of June 1978, in Toledo, Ohio. He has four siblings and is the middle child of the family.

From an early age, Lyfe was rapping with his brother and two cousins. They called themselves ‘The Dotsons”, but the dream was short-lived when Jennings was sent to prison at 14 years old for a total sentence of 10 years.

Jennings was sent to prison for involvement in a revenge plot against a rival drug dealer; which ended in a young mother being killed, and he had to completely start over in 2002 when he was released from prison.

Professional Rap Artist and Producer

Lyfe Jennings had ten years in jail to prepare for his release, making a start on his music career a couple of days after getting out.

He recorded a four-song demo CD in December 2002, something he had been planning for his post-release entry into the music business.

Barely a month out of jail he was booked at the Apollo for a performance where the audience was not happy with his appearance.

He was undeterred by the boos and after his initial performance, the crowd warmed to his gritty voice and lyrical songwriting.

Jennings managed to perform for 5 nights in a row, winning the amateur night competition and selling 1,000 copies of his CD.

In the same way that Chris Rock, an Apollo veteran, connected with his audience and built a fan base, Jennings became an unexpected hit.

Pursuing Fame in New York City

New York City beckoned Lyfe as his desire to pursue a record deal grew, knowing that a record company contract was his ticket to stardom.

After arriving in New York, Columbia Records approached Jennings, offering him a contract as they saw his potential and talent.

His album, “Lyfe 268-192,” was a significant factor in his career success, as it introduced him to a wider audience.

The album debuted in August 2004 to widespread acclaim and was reissued a year later with a reworked version of his song “Hypothetically.”

Cashing in on American Idol excitement, the album’s appeal was enhanced when the competition winner, Fantasia, sang “Hypothetically,” as a featured artist.

Billboard Hot 100 Success

His song “Must Be Nice” was released in the summer of 2004, reaching the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

It was the 13th biggest single of 2005, making the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and continued in the top 100 through 2006.

The song was featured in the cult classic film, ATL, a story of 4 friends and their challenges faced in life after school.

The movie starred Lauren London and rapper T.I., with the song raising Jennings’ profile and providing him with a much-needed marketing boost.

After the success of the movie, Lyfe changed his musical direction, opting for a more hip-hop-oriented sound for “The Phoenix,” his 2006 release.

As his popularity grew, Jennings collaborated with other prominent rappers, including Three 6 Mafia and Young Buck expanding his music industry network.

2008 saw Jennings release his long-awaited album, “Lyfe Change,” marking yet another change in his sound and featuring a verse from T.I.

In the same year, Lyfe moved to Warner Brothers, signing a new, more lucrative deal and paving the way for future projects.

It was two more years before his next album, “Sooner or Later,” hit the streets and included a stellar lineup of supporting acts.

The star-studded collaborators included Ludacris, Fabolous, as well as Anthony Hamilton, but there was trouble on the horizon.

But fame and success had taken their toll on Jennings and his home life, resulting in a domestic dispute that sent him back to prison.

A Musical Comeback

After being released from prison, Jennings got his career back on track, returning to the studio and releasing “Lucid,” in October 2013.

The album was released under the Mass Appeal label and helped to reestablish his career which had collapsed while he was incarcerated.

His album was remarkably successful, peaked in the Billboard R&B Top 10 chart, and confirmed Jennings’ relevance and connection with his audience.

Lyfe went through a deeply introspective period in his life with the resulting album, “Tree of Lyfe,” recorded mostly in his Mississippi home studio.

Released in June 2015, “Tree of Lyfe” emphasized Jennings’ authenticity and musical depth, creating a very personal, soul-searching selection of songs.

2023 and Beyond

Jennings embarked on a cross-country tour of the USA, allowing him to meet and connect with his fans throughout 2023 and 20254.

He is also busy with the launch of his clothing label, aptly called Repetition, which is a streetwear label that he’s launching globally.

He now sees himself as both an artist and a business person, with the ability to help people through his music.

What is Paris Hilton’s net worth?

Net Worth:$300 Million
Born:February 17, 1981
Height:1.73 m (5 ft 8 in)
Country of Origin:United States of America
Source of Wealth:Professional Model/Actor
Last Updated:October 2, 2023

As of October 2023, Paris Hilton’s net worth is estimated to be $300 Million, and she’s one of the richest models in the world.

Paris Hilton is an American model, businesswoman, socialite, TV personality, model, actress, singer, and DJ.

Hilton was previously engaged to Chris Zylka, who gave her a $2 million dollar engagement ring.

After 10 months of being engaged, Hilton called it off and then refused to return the ring.

Early Life

Paris Hilton was born on the 17th of February 1981, in New York City, United States.

Her mother is a socialite and former actress, and her father is a businessman. She also has 3 younger siblings: Nicky, Barron, and Conrad.

Paris Hilton’s great-grandfather was the founder of Hilton Hotels, and growing up, Paris was friends with other socialites such as Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, and Nicole Richie.

She grew up in Los Angeles and attended Buckley School, and St. Paul the Apostle School for her elementary years.

Paris attended numerous schools during her high school years, including a school for emotionally troubled teens; and even dropped out at one point.

Professional Celebrity

Paris Hilton started modeling as a child, appearing in children’s charity events, and was cast in the fantasy film, “Wishman,” in 1992.

When the family moved to New York City in 1996, Paris became involved in the social scene, attending nightclubs and high-profile events.

The only problem with this was that she was only 16 years old and used a fake ID to get into the parties and clubs.

As the media and especially the local tabloids began following her around, she developed a persona that was the start of her business empire.

Boarding School Stops the Party

As Paris ‘ behavior spiraled out of control, slipping out at night to attend clubs, her family took steps to bring her in line.

Her rebellious lifestyle led to Hilton’s parents sending her to boarding schools until she turned 18, temporarily interrupting her public appearances.

This life-changing event together with her self-confessed incarceration for trying to escape from the school was the genesis of her business empire.

While placed in solitary confinement, she decided that she was never going to let anyone control her again and vowed to make $100 million.

Paris Returns to the Public Eye

Once she turned 18, Hilton resumed her public appearances, attending events like the NYC premiere of “Cruel Intentions” in 1999.

A New Yorker profile in October 1999 boosted her brand and referred to Paris and her sister, Nicky, as “the littlest socialites in town.”

Paparazzi followed them everywhere, defining what it was to be a young woman in the 2000s, starting a trend that is still going on today.

International Model

Taking inspiration from designers Patricia Field and Betsey Johnson, Hilton pursued a modeling career, signing with Donald Trump’s T Management agency at age 19.

Not long after, Paris signed with Ford Models Management and the Model 1 Agency, the leading talent management group in Europe.

She appeared on various fashion week runways, and companies like Christian Dior and Tommy Hilfiger used her in their campaigns.

After successfully transitioning into a modeling superstar and introducing future influencers like Kim Kardashian to the scene, she pivoted.

Reality TV Star

“The Simple Life” show which aired in 2003 and starred Paris and her friend Nicole Richie was a game changer in the television industry.

With ratings dropping and online entertainment taking over the attention of younger audiences, Reality TV was the savior for which TV executives were praying.

Two rich girls from New York living with a rural family in Altus, Arkansas – what could possibly go wrong – as it turns out, quite a lot.

The show premiered with 13 million viewers, sending Fox’s ratings through the roof, and was the start of an entirely new brand of television entertainment.

However, Hilton’s exposure following the release of a sex tape made by a previous boyfriend sent shockwaves through her family.

Hilton’s onscreen persona in “The Simple Life” solidified her image as a “dumb blonde,” but was overshadowed by the tape and tabloid photos.

She took on supporting roles in films like “Raising Helen,” alongside Helen Mirren and “The O.C.”  and released her autobiography, “Confessions of an Heiress.”

It hit the New York Times best-seller list, helping her land a role in the movie starring Elisha Cuthbert, “House of Wax,” in 2005.

Paris appeared in “The Bling Ring 5” with Emma Watson as well as “The Hottie & the Nottie,” and “National Lampoon’s Pledge This!” among others.
