He was chosen by the Los Angeles Kings in the 250th overall slot of the 10th round of the 1993 NHL Draft.

Despite his lack of club experience, through the 1997–98 season, the Kuopio, Finland, native played for his native Finland.

Timonen was a member of Finland’s bronze-medal Olympic squad in Nagano and the Kings moved him, along with Jan Vopat, to the Nashville Predators shortly after the Olympics.

Timonen split his time between Nashville and its IHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, in the 1998–99 season. He was elevated to a full-time NHL player, joining Jason Arnott the following year.

On August 5, 2014, Timonen received the news that he had blood clots in his right leg and both of his lungs just before the 2014–15 season started.

Jim Carrey was born on the 17th of January, 1962, in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.

Carrey has three older siblings, and his family was raised in a Catholic household.

Even from the mere age of just 10 years old, Jim had already found a love for being an impressionist.

The family lived in Ontario for eight years, and Carrey attended Aldershot High School as a teenager.

Jim Carrey's Career

Jim Carrey needs little introduction to anyone with even a passing interest in movies, working with some of the richest directors in the world during his career.

Well before he became a household name, Carrey began his career in Canada, where he cut his teeth working in the local stand-up scene.

It was here he would develop his unique talent for impressions of famous people in Yuk Yuk’s comedy club while dressed in a comical leisure suit.

Transition To Hollywood In The 1980s

Before Jim Carrey rose through the ranks of the richest comedians in the world, he took on a string of smaller roles in various Hollywood movies.

Thanks to his regular slots in the Comedy Store in LA, Carrey was able to pick up a small role in the Clint Eastwood film The Dead Pool in 1988.

The same year, he also had small appearances in Copper Mountain and Peggy Sue Got Marries, which co-starred Nicolas Cage and Kathleen Turner.

Another popular comedy by Carrey during this era, Liar Liar, cemented his growing reputation and received widespread praise from critics.

Critical Acclaim For Dramatic Roles

In addition to his many comedy movies, Jim Carrey has earned high praise for his efforts in more serious and dramatic roles that showcase his range.

The first notable example came with the biopic The Man In The Moon, which co-starred Danny DeVito and saw Carrey play iconic actor Andy Kaufman.

The performance led to many acting awards nominations and wowed audiences who, until that point, had only seen Carrey as a wacky comic actor.

His 2004 movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, cast out any doubts that his performance as Kaufman had been a fluke.

Performing alongside Kate Winslet, Carrey again received impressive notices from critics and many award nominations for his work on the film.

The following year, Carrey was inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame for his contributions to the arts and the world of comedy.

Favorite Quotes from Debbie Reynolds

“I never dreamt of being in the movies. I was from a very average, I would say, a rather poor family, so my big treat was to work hard all week. I mowed lawns and babysat and washed dishes and washed cars – to go to the movies.” – Debbie Reynolds

“Old age is a wonderful time of life. At least, that’s what everyone tells you. But let me tell you: it is not true. What’s true is that your hips, knees, and ankles gradually give up on you – everything is quite dreadful, really. And it was a terrible thing to have told us because we believed it.” -Debbie Reynolds

“I live right in front of my daughter. I have a little house right in front of her because I can stay in touch. It’s like a little commune, and it’s very nice because you can be close. I can see my granddaughter. I live very close to my brother, too, and my son. We’re a very close family.” -Debbie Reynolds

“If you do a musical, it’s really thrilling and it’s a lot of work, but it’s very rewarding. I would say, for me, what I like best is what I do, which is, I call it vaudeville, I call it live, I call it in concert, I call it what Bette Midler does, and what Garland did for years, and Ethel Merman.” – Debbie Reynolds

“The young people today are really so creative and talented – I mean, the ones who are really are and they get together and produce and create. They’re an entirely different breed from what I was when I was their age.” – Debbie Reynolds
