5 Great Books to Read on Building Wealth
Over the past 11 months I have interviewed over 175 entrepreneurial authors of which more than half have written about or have shared their personal advice on what it takes to build wealth.
I picked out the latest books from my show, The Entrepreneurs Library, that come highly recommended by many entrepreneurs and focus the most on wealth.
The books I chose to share do not include the classics I mentioned above because I wanted to focus on books that are less than 5 years old and contain actionable advice that will allow you to hold yourself accountable when it comes to building your wealth.
Without further ado, here are 5 great books to read on building wealth at your own pace:
1. The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco
Several new great books to read are out with ideas, and game plans on wealth. One is called The Millionaire Fast Lane by MJ DeMarco. DeMarco thought to be wealthy, you had to work hard your whole life. You had to go to college, get a great job, then start saving money.
After you had worked for many years, then you became wealthy. When he was a teenager, he saw a man in a fancy car.
DeMarco walked up to that man and asked him what he did for a living. The man was very young, attractive and very articulate. He told DeMarco that he was an inventor.
For DeMarco, that was it. He knew that if he lived his dreams, he could become what he wanted to be right now. There was no waiting or stocking away 10% in a savings account. He started right then drawing up a game plan of what he wanted to be.
He also started people watching.
When he found someone who was happy, he would ask them about it. DeMarco found out that people who had goals in mind got far in life. He knew that if he could stay focused on his dreams, he could achieve anything he ever wanted.
2. 6 Months to 6 Figures by Peter Voogd
6 Months to 6 Figures by Peter Voogd takes a different approach. Peter believes that people play victims. He thinks that we spend too much time on pity parties.
He does believe that some people have it worse than others. He also believes that is what holds people back. If you think you are beaten, you are. If you believe you are losing you are. You must work hard and have focus for what you want.
No one is going to hand you anything. You may have to work harder, but you can do it. You have to want your life to turn around. No one, but you can make that happen.
3. Three Feet From Gold by Greg S Reid
Three Feet From Gold by Greg S Reid takes a whole new spin, and is the 3rd of the great books to read on this list. He challenges readers to move outside of their comfort zones. His grandfather actually mined gold in the gold rush.
He worked construction, but that wasn’t his dream.
He knew that he needed a change.
He though outside of the box and found his passion. This led him to other adventures, but always happy ones. The point is to find your bliss, do what makes you happy in life. This life is all you get. Do not waste it.
4. Make Money, Live Wealthy by Austin Netzley
In the book “Make Money, Live Wealthy”, Austin Netzley talked to 75 wealthy people from all around the world. He looked for people in all walks of life.
He wanted people that were all ages, ethnic backgrounds and cultures. What he found was this, each one had a focus.
Each person knew what they wanted. They may not have known how to get it, but they kept that picture in their mind. If you want a boat, for example, focus on that. Talk to people who build boats, who sell boats and own them. What did they do to get a boat.
Then take those ideas and make them your own. Use those thoughts and ideas to drive your own spirit forward. This helps you to see that nothing can stop you. You can have a dream no matter how big or how small and it can come true. All you have to do is focus and connect.
If you do these steps, nothing can stop you.
5. Millionaire Master Plan by Roger Hamilton
Roger Hamilton loves the very wealthy. He enjoys finding out how they became wealthy, what drives them and how they stay that way.
In his book “Millionaire Master Plan”, he focuses on four types of people.
Take Oprah Winfrey for example. She is a dreamer. She was raised very poor. She had a focus on education. She knew if she could develop a good skill set, she could make her dreams come true. Her background did not matter.
What mattered was in her heart. In her heart, she was so much more than a poor girl. She had ambitions and dreams just like anyone else. She had to work hard, but they were her dreams. She could make anything happen if she wanted it badly.
It matters that she was focused, and didn’t let her past dictate her future. She was going to succeed, no matter what she had going on in life.
That concludes the list of 5 great books to read on building wealth!
