Favorite Quotes from Gary Dell’Abate

“When I got home from school, I never knew which mood of my mom was gonna be on the other side of the door. I didn’t know what I was gonna get when I turned the doorknob. That’s excellent preparation if you want to be a producer.” – Gary Dell’Abate

“Everybody should write a book whether you get it published or not because the experience of sort of taking it all and throwing it down on paper is unbelievably cathartic.” – Gary Dell’Abate

“Kate Moss is too skinny. She also looks like she’s 11. It’s practically illegal to look at her picture. God bless Kate Dillon, but size 14 is just a little too big. Look at me talking, I just lost 28 pounds, so I should have more sympathy, but I don’t.” – Gary Dell’Abate

“I just love the Michael Connelly books. It’s not a Harry Bosch story without Len Cariou reading it. It’s amazing how attached you become to the narrator of a recurring character that you love. Cariou has won Tony Awards and had an amazing career, but if I ever met him, I’d ask him how he does Harry Bosch.” – Gary Dell’Abate

“I had a bestseller a few years ago called THEY CALL ME BABA BOOEY. Reading it was nothing short of torture. It took three full days sitting in a phone booth-size studio. My producer, Dan Zitt, was amazing. But at the end of the day, you’re just reading for hours on end.” – Gary Dell’Abate

“I think it’s 14 or 15 pills. Something in there is fucking with, you know, that part of my system.” – Gary Dell’Abate
