Acting Career
Kristen Bell began her TV and film career in the early 2000s with minor roles in various projects. This included single-episode appearances in The Shield, American Dreams, The O’Keefes, and Everwood. During this time, she made several film appearances, starring in People Are Dead (2002), The King and Queen of Moonlight Bay (2003), and Spartan (2004). However, her most notable role was as Gracie Thompson in Gracie’s Choice (2004).
Towards the late 2000s and early 2010s, Kristen began earning roles in larger movies, notably when she starred as Sarah Marshall alongside Jason Segel, Russell Brand, and Paul Rudd in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008). She also appeared in Couples Retreat (2009) as Cynthia, When in Rome (2010) as Beth, and Scream 4 (2011) as Chloe.
TV Shows
During this time, Kristen also starred in the TV series Gossip Girl, appearing in 121 episodes from 2007 to 2012. This was the first of many television shows in which she would take on a leading role. Others included Showtime’s House of Lies and The Good Place. Both shows became stand-out highlights of her acting career.
Voiceover Work
While many of these roles earned Bell international fame, the highest-grossing films of her career would come later when she transitioned into voiceover work in popular animated children’s films. The most notable of which was her role as Anna’s voice in Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019). She also worked on Zootopia (2016), Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018), and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). All five movies remain the highest-grossing of Bell’s career.
The Good Place Salary
According to Variety, Bell earned $125,000 per episode in 2016 for The Good Place. Interestingly, her co-star Ted Danson earned almost twice as much, at $225,000 per episode. Based on her per-episode salary, Kristen would have earned $1.625 million for season one, $1.5 million per episode for seasons two and three, and $1.625 million for season four. This would put her total salary from the show at $6.25 million.
Highest-Grossing Movies
The top five of Bell’s ten highest-grossing movies are animated, accounting for $4.5 billion in box office revenue. Frozen II ($1.45 billion) and Frozen ($1.31 billion) were the best-performing. Frozen II is the third-highest-grossing animated film ever produced, behind Inside Out 2 and The Lion King. Zootopia also grossed over $1 billion.
The remaining films on Bell’s top ten list were primarily in the romance-comedy genre, including Bad Moms ($184 million), Couples Retreat ($172 million), and Forgetting Sarah Marshall ($106 million).
Some notable entries that didn’t make the list include Get Him to the Greek ($92 million), Burlesque ($90 million), and The Boss ($79 million).

Hello Bello Bankruptcy
In October 2023, Bell and her husband, Dax Shepard, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for their baby-care product company, Unconditional Love Inc., operating as Hello Bello. The company received an investment from private equity firm VMG Partners in 2020 and became the biggest direct-to-consumer diaper brand by 2021, reporting $200 million in net sales.
However, due to the effects of COVID-19, it struggled to grow and was hit by rising shipping costs, higher purchase prices, and persistent delays in receiving raw material shipments. CEO Erica Buxton stated that they had been trying to resolve these issues by controlling their own manufacturing, but it wasn’t enough because they couldn’t meet demand.
In the court records, Hello Bello documented its assets and liabilities between $100 million and $500 million, with fiscal-year sales revenue of $179 million, negative EBITDA of approximately $15 million, and an outstanding balance owed to one creditor, a tissue products supplier, of roughly $22 million.
Nevertheless, shortly after the bankruptcy announcement, private equity firm Hildred Capital Management officially acquired the company out of bankruptcy with an initial stalking horse bid of $65 million.
Buxton stated that everyone at Hello Bello believes this was the best choice to secure the company’s future and maintain its current level of service and customer satisfaction, and Hildred’s operational expertise will be greatly appreciated. According to reports, Hello Bello will eventually be positioned under Hildred Capital Management’s pediatric consumer health company, Hyland’s Naturals.
Real Estate
In August 2017, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard paid $4.3 million for a 4,359-square-foot, five-bedroom home in Los Angeles, California. The property was acquired through a trust connected to the couple. They still own the house and pay roughly $55,000 in annual property taxes. Based on professional estimates, it is currently worth $5.8 million.

Income Sources
Unfortunately for us, none of Beanie Feldstein’s film salaries have ever been disclosed to the public. However, we’re safe in assuming that this is where the majority of her income and net worth has come from.
So instead of listing how much she’s earned from her film roles, as we would normally do, let’s take a look at those which would have earned her the most.
While Feldstein technically made her on-screen debut as a child in 2002, one could argue that her career didn’t really begin until the mid-2010s. In fact, her debut film role in Neighbors 2, alongside stars like Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, and Chloë Grace Moretz, remains the highest-grossing film of her career. Despite this, she played only a minor role, and the movie likely didn’t pay her a substantial salary.
That said, Beanie’s performance in Neighbors 2 opened doors. Towards the end of the decade, she landed roles in films like Lady Bird, Booksmart, and How to Build a Girl. This time, she wasn’t sharing the screen with numerous renowned actors, giving her roles more attention. She also played the lead/co-lead actress in two of the films mentioned above.
In recent years, Feldstein’s most notable roles include voicing the titular character Harriet in the animated show, Harriet the Spy. She also played Althea in 6 episodes of Murders in the Building, and Sukie in Drive-Away Dolls.
Highest-Grossing Movies
Feldstein’s biggest box-office hit was in 2016, when she starred in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. The film grossed $108 million worldwide against a $35 million budget, although it was nowhere near the success of the first movie, which grossed $270 million against only an $18 million production budget.
Feldstein also starred in Lady Bird ($79 million) and Booksmart, which grossed $25 million against a $6 million budget. Two of her other entries on the list include very recent roles in Selma ($9 million) and Drive-Away Dolls ($7.9 million), both released in 2024.
Here’s a complete list of Beanie Feldstein’s ten highest-grossing films:
- Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising – $108 Million (2016)
- Lady Bird – $79 Million (2017)
- Booksmart – $25 Million (2019)

- The Female Brain – $22 Thousand (2017)
Additional Income Sources

- Broadway shows
- Social media sponsorships
- Speaking engagements

Regarding the latter income stream, Feldstein has previously appeared in a fashion campaign for Gucci. Additionally, she appeared as an AerieREAL Role Model for the clothing retailer Aerie.
