The Top 10 Superfoods to Eat Everyday
It just so happens that some of them can also benefit your skin, your energy levels and the natural way your body functions. We all want to be healthy, right guys? Check out the top 10 superfoods to eat every day for amazing health benefits.
1. Green Tea
Green tea is something that I’ve only just started drinking recently, as I spotted the amazing health benefits it’s been proven to provide. What with the high number of benefits it has for your health, it’s hard not to start drinking it.
Green tea has been proven to reduce the risk of diabetes, Alzheimer’s, reduce your cholesterol and be very beneficial for weight loss by improving your metabolism.
As well as this, regular consumption of green tea is good for your blood pressure, it reduces the risk of heart disease and as a whole, is a great anti-viral agent.
However, to see all of these benefits you would need to be drinking more than just 1 cup of the stuff a day. Roughly 2-3 cups a day would be a healthy amount, and it also contains caffeine, just not as much as coffee.
So this would be a perfect substitute in order to improve your overall health.
2. Coconut Oil
I’ve started to put coconut oil in my homemade protein bars as it’s a great way to easily reap the benefits from this superfood. It has a lot of the same benefits that green tea does, in the fact that it improves your blood cholesterol and helps reduce the risk of heart disease.
It also is similar in the fact that it can improve your metabolism and actually on top of that, reduce your hunger levels.
If used externally, coconut oil can improve the health of your hair and skin, and reduce wrinkles. Internally, it’s incredibly easy to consume as you can put it in whatever you like. Whether it be protein bars, meals, tea, coffee, you name it.
Personally, I hate the taste and texture of Avocado, on its own that is.
But when you combine it with other foods it can be an excellent way of consuming this superfood easily with your meals or snacks. A friend of mine gave me the great idea of chopping an Avocado into small pieces and mixing it with lemon juice. Tastes good!
Avocados are a superfood mainly because they’re absolutely crammed with nutrients and healthy fats! But they can also improve your eyesight and even help prevents certain types of cancer, according to Research News.
The other benefits people can reap from the Avocado include being beneficial for those trying to lose weight, improve sexual health and fertility, and impressively it can help protect unborn babies, helping progress their brain/body development if consumed enough by pregnant ladies.
I’ve actually written about blueberries once before, in my latest post on Motivation Grid about improving your memory.
This is definitely one great benefit from consuming them, but don’t forget that they’re stuffed with high levels of anti-oxidants, fiber and Vitamin C. You can’t go wrong by adding these into your diet as snacks, or with your breakfast.
Almonds are classed as one of the top 10 superfoods to eat almost solely because of their healthy fat content, that can help improve cholesterol levels and significantly reduce the risk of heart disease.
It’s been said that people who eat nuts often, on average live longer than those who don’t.
Vitamins B6 and E are the main vitamins that almonds will contain, and that’s great for maintaining a healthy heart. They’re also packed with protein, which is why they’re popular snacks among bodybuilders.
Find me a personal trainer that doesn’t recommend fresh salmon as part of your diet.
It certainly might take you a while. Salmon is great as it’s very high in Omega-3, improving the efficiency of your brain and your nervous system, as well as increasing your metabolism.
Salmon is also an essential source of protein for building muscle and repairing tissue and therefore when you add up all the proteins, omega-3 and vitamins, it becomes a great superfood to incorporate within your diet.
Chia seeds, much like many of the other superfoods on this list, contain all the same goodness, Omega-3, proteins, minerals, antioxidants etc.
They can also be a great tool for anyone looking to lose weight, as they make you feel as if your more full up than you actually are.
We all remember how Pop-Eye loved his spinach, right? The reason behind Pop-Eye’s love of spinach had to be because it simply contains more nutrients than any other food on this planet, including Vitamins A, D, K and E, as well as Omega-3 and a tonne of anti-oxidants.
It strengthens the bones and neutralizes the body from those high acidic diets most of us tend to have. All in all, when you combine spinach with the rest of the superfoods on this list, you’ll have created and unstoppable diet for success.
Lentils are another superfood that’s absolutely stuffed with protein. Not only do contain high protein levels, but it’s also slow-burning protein, which is guaranteed to satisfy your hunger for longer, as it take longer for your body to use up the calories.
Lentils are a great and cheap source of protein, and also include important nutrients such as Iron, Calcium and Zinc. Definitely give these a try as a cheap way of giving your body exactly what it needs.
Beans come in many different varieties and sizes; string beans, green beans, kidney beans, baked beans… I could go on. But never the less, they all can be very beneficial as a part of our diets, potentially preventing various diseases, cancers and diabetes.
Beans are incredibly high in fiber content, protein content and anti-oxidants, which is exactly why they’re on this list of 10 great superfoods.
