Music Career
Odyssey Record Store
In the early 90s, Khaled was able to secure a job at Odyssey, a record store based in New Orleans. According to an interview Khaled did on the ‘Drink Champs’ podcast, he would DJ at the Odyssey record store, where both Lil Wayne and Birdman would frequently visit. It was through this job that DJ Khaled first established a connection with the pair. After leaving Odyssey, Khaled would DJ in reggae sound clashes, mixing dancehall and hip-hop music together.
Mixx 96 Pirate Radio Station
In the mid-90s, Khaled moved from New Orleans to Orlando, Florida, after winning $5,000 in a DJ contest. However, he would soon spend a month in jail for being caught multiple times driving with a suspended license. After getting out of jail, he moved from Orlando to Miami and would take DJ gigs wherever he could find them. In 1996, he secured a job as a DJ at a Caribbean pirate radio station, Mixx 96.
99 Jamz Hip-Hop Radio
In 1997, DJ Khaled would start DJing for a regular Friday-night show on 99 Jamz, a Miami-based hip-hop radio station. 99 Jamz was the station where Khaled could start building traction for his career as a DJ. In 2003, Khaled was given his own show on 99 Jamz and stayed at the station for another ten years.
We the Best
Khaled quickly gained a passion for creating his own music, and in 2006, ‘We the Best Music Group’, Khaled’s own record label, was born. By the time Khaled had put together his own record label, he’d already established great connections within the industry, and so he was able to get a lot of incredible artists to feature on his very first album, ‘Listennn… the album’.
The album was released on June 6, 2006, and featured artists such as:
In 2007, DJ Khaled released his second studio album, ‘We the Best’. The success of the album led to a flourishing of further albums from Khaled in the years to come, which we’ve listed below.
Another Wing
DJ Khaled has also been involved in ventures beyond DJing and music production. One of these ventures, and one of the latest, to be precise, is Another Wing. Another Wing is a chicken wing delivery service that operates in 150 locations across five separate countries:
- USA
- UK
- Canada
- France
- UAE
The wings are prepared and cooked in ‘ghost kitchens’ and then made available to order on food delivery apps such as Deliveroo and Seamless
We the Best Merchandise
The ‘We the Best’ store offers various merchandise related to DJ Khaled’s album releases. These collections primarily consist of apparel items, including T-shirts, hoodies, socks, and sweatshirts.

In December 2018, he listed this property for sale, with an asking price of $8 million. In April 2019, the price was reduced to $6.6 million and then again to $6 million at the end of the year. Khaled sold the home for $4.8 million in July 2020. The property is currently on the market again for $16.4 million.
Beverly Hills Mansion
In December 2016, DJ Khaled paid $9.9 million to buy a 10,681-square-foot, seven-bedroom, eleven-bathroom mansion in Beverly Hills from singer Robbie Williams. Zedd had one of the quickest rises to success in music history. The German national began learning about EDM in 2009, and by 2014, he was ranked the seventh-highest-paid DJ in the world. That year, Zedd earned an estimated $21 million, thanks to an average income of $100,000 per performance. Just one year prior, the DJ was grossing only $20,000 per show.
From that point until 2019, Zedd featured on every iteration of Forbes’ highest-paid DJs list. During this time, Zedd’s annual income naturally alternated between higher and lower figures. In his case, his activity would fluctuate from year to year. For example, in 2015, his income declined to $17 million, but in 2016, it shot back up to $24.5 million. In 2017, his earnings were an estimated $19 million, and in 2018, they exceeded $22 million. You get the idea. The fluctuations in his income were solely due to his level of activity in each given year.
During his peak years, Zedd reportedly earned at least $200,000 per show, often grossing $250,000 per gig.
Impossible Foods Investment
While Zedd has enjoyed massive success worldwide, he is also quick to invest in a variety of business ventures. In 2019 and 2020, he invested a significant amount in the Series E and F funding rounds for Impossible Foods. During the round, the company raised a total of $300 million; however, this figure encompasses a substantial list of investors, and Zedd’s individual investment is unknown.
The company focuses on producing sustainable alternatives to meat, fish, and chicken made with plant-based ingredients and is supported by many celebrities. Zedd joined well-known stars such as Jay-Z, Trevor Noah, Katy Perry, Phil Rosenthal, Jaden Smith, Ruby Rose, and Serena Williams as major investors.
Real Estate
In December 2014, Zedd paid $3.9 million for a 3,831-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Los Angeles, California. This property, which features a very modern interior design and includes amenities such as an outdoor pool, recording studio, and wine cellar. It also features views of the Los Angeles city skyline. Zedd recently returned the property to the market in October 2025, seeking $5.5 million.
In November 2023, the DJ purchased an enormous 17,500-square-foot, eight-bedroom, eleven-bathroom mansion in Encino, California. He paid $18.4 million for the property, which features a wine cellar, home gym, media room, and outdoor pool.
Summary
By following his dream of becoming a musician, Zedd defied the odds and is now one of the most well-known and popular dance music performers. His achievements, awards, and impact on electronic music make him one of the genre’s leading personalities and trend-setting icons. By collaborating with talented artists, Zedd not only keeps abreast of the latest talent but also influences the next generation of artists.

Introduction
John Digweed is a British professional and DJ with an estimated net worth of $48 Million.
In addition to cultivating a successful solo act, Digweed has collaborated with numerous other artists and released countless compilation albums. While he may not be the absolute richest DJ in the world, John Digweed is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and successful.
Bedrock Records
In 1999, Digweed and his production partner Nick Muir co-founded Bedrock Records. However, in addition to being a label, Bedrock was also a promotions company and a studio production partnership between Digweed and Muir. Dedicated to trance, progressive house, and techno, the label launched with “Heaven Scent”, which became one of the defining progressive house tracks of the era. The label became known for signing artists like Alan Fitzpatrick and Steve Lawler early in their careers, before either became widely known.
Over the next few years, Bedrock Records expanded with sub-labels including Bedrock Breaks, B_Rock, and Black, before adding Bedrock Digital for its digital-only releases. The label marked its 20th anniversary in 2018, with the release of the album Bedrock XX, and remains one of the few independent electronic music labels still operating after more than 25 years in the game.
Transitions Radio Show
A year after the launch of Bedrock Records, in September 2000, Digweed started the weekly “John Digweed” radio show on Kiss 100 in the UK. The show’s format featured Digweed for the first hour, with a guest DJ for the second. By September 2004, Digweed changed the show’s name to Transitions and began distributing it worldwide.
After several successful years, Digweed ended the Transitions show on Kiss 100 in January 2011 and moved it entirely online. It has since grown into one of the most widely distributed DJ shows in the world. It is broadcast in over 70 countries each week across 82 major radio networks, and has more than 11 million weekly listeners.
Philanthropy
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when live events were on hold, Digweed began hosting a series of online DJ sets from home called the Bunker Sessions. For New Year’s Eve 2020, he organized a livestream event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, a UK charity that provides help for people dealing with cancer. Tickets for the event were priced at $5, with Mixcloud waiving its platform fee so that proceeds could go directly to the charity.
Digweed also set up a JustGiving page for the event, allowing fans who couldn’t attend the stream to make additional donations directly to the charity. The total amount raised through the page was £16,057 ($21,250), though the overall amount, including the live event, was not disclosed. The event showed that, even in the absence of live events, Digweed could still give back to charity.
